How much should I budget to put together a Disney scrapbook? Also does anyone have a list of items I would need to purchase to get started. So far I have some Mickey stickers :earsboy: but that's about it. Obviously an album and scrapbook paper... what else as far as type of scissors ?

Also does anyone have ideas how to get started with a layout or any good Disney layout ideas? I guess general layouts would help as well.

I have about 100 pictures - but probably not all will go in the scrapbook - maybe 50-75?

Simple Scrapbooks has a page in every magazine with the tools to get started: in the July/August issue it is on page 118:
  • Portable paper trimmer
  • Ruler
  • Small scissors
  • Black archival pen for journaling
  • Pencil
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Art gum eraser
  • Paper adhesive (there are a number of different kinds: glue stick, glue pens, etc.)
  • Photo adhesive (I use good old fashioned double stick tape)
  • Portable container to store all of the above tools (I use a little basket and throw everything in)

Also in my little basket I keep a craft knife. I have really sharp scissors that have a little spring on them to keep my hands from getting tired when I am cutting a lot.

I guess a budget really depends on how fancy you want to go with embellishments. Visit your local craft store and you will see what I mean (there are loads of the cutest Disney stuff).

A lot of people here use 2peas for inspiration: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/. I also adore Simple Scrapbooks: http://www.simplescrapbooksmag.com/welcome/

Hope this helps to get you started!

You come to the wrong place for budget ideas!! There is no budget for scrapping!! It sucks you in and you can't stop buying! This is a good place to find scrap bargins though!

I suggest you take a class to learn all of the tools there are. Either a Creative Memroies consultant near you or your local Michael's craft store can help.

Love you name. I got married and got stuck living in this state!!! Are you in Mont. County? I can tell you some good places to go for beginner class if you are.

look on the 2peas webpage... www.twopeasinabucket.com they have an awesome gallery. as for budget... good luck with that. I shop everywhere, target, m's, j's, recollections, the hardware store, you name it, I've probably shopped there. good luck and have fun! maggie

Yeah I'm in Mont. Co... Let me know....

Why do you say "got stuck living" in Maryland! You don't like it. I grew up here. :)

Oh its so hard to budget because there are so many things you can use! They have new punches (well kind of new) from all night media that have tigger and eeyore and princess.

Married in Maryland I grew up in Fairfax County so it is the age old debate if what state is better. DH grew up in PG and Mont so he sees nothing wrong with here

I live across the street from RIO (aka the two story Target) in Gaithersburg Are we close?

Budget? What is a budget???? :rotfl2:
I have no control when it comes to scrapbooking. If my DH only knew how much I spent.

I started with creative memories. They have good ideas for basic scrapbook pages. I have since expanded to more advanced scrapbooking. Creative Memories can be a bit pricey. Good list of things above. :) Good Luck! :cheer2:
