new to renting dvc points - a few questions

I now understand that to rent a studio at Poly or GF less than 7 months out is pretty difficult. I saw something about waitlists. How do I get on a waitlist? Or should I just give up and try for the next trip?

The only way for a non-DVC member to get on a waitlist is to find a DVC Member willing to use their points to utilize the waitlist for you. You will need to contact a member who has offered to rent to others on the DVC Rent/Trade Board to see if they are willing to use the waitlist on your behalf.

For popular resorts/villa types/dates it is best to make rental reservations 11 months in advance. Within 7 months availability starts to become limited to a few resorts.
