New to Potty Child and WDW

we are in the middle of potty learning, and have been on cuse from dd for the past 4-5 months or so, but she still has to ware a diaper in the car (even for most short trips), to bed, nap time, ect.... so she's still in a diaper about 40-50% of the time, i plan to take pull ups i think (thoes prices are crazy more then diapers though), we usally use cloth, but NOT on vacations.

I used post-it flags to cover the the self-flush sensors becuase my DDs were nervous about the self-flushing toilets. The bathrooms are also very loud, which scared my youngest DD (30 months at the time). Even though she was mostly potty trained at home, I put her in Pull-Ups at Disney since I knew she wouldn't be comfortable in the bathrooms. I would always ask her if she wanted to go when her sisters were, but she never did. I didn't push it. She would always use the toilet at the hotel before and after our day in the parks. I guess I'm not much help for you, but I certainly understand your situation!

In Jan my 28 month year old used the potty a number of times at day at home. We bought a foldable potty seat with us. She did not sit on a potty once, and was very scared of the flushing potty's. It was much easier anyway. You can't always get to a bathroom in a moments notice at WDW.

Since coming home she is doing great! We have a number of months until our May DCL trip on the Wonder. I would like her to be potty trained by then because she can use the pool and play in the OC club then. She is also doing great and if all goes well by then, she should be on track for it. She is ready. However I am worried about the boats toilets. I hear they are supper suckers. She is super tiny now too, only 20 lbs.

If she isn't potty trained I think it will be an easier trip, but she will be said she won't be able to swim in the pool (not an issue at WDW, only on the cruise ships.)

My older DD hates the auto flush ones. I was able to get her to use the post it notes fine on the auto flush and that worked much better then me standing behind her with my hand over the sensory.

I bought 2 packs of 10 for our trip.

Those look fine, but they won't keep her from falling in, and that is my real concern. At this point I haven't found undies in size 12 or 18 months yet either (that is what size she wears) but some 2T might be small enough. I figure we are going to try undies in March, that should give us some time to practice before May.

Oh yes, that's why I bought him the seat but he cried every time we tried it. So, I just hold him a bit while he sits on the potty liners. As for the Undies, if you get her the ones from Target that have Characters on them, and wash them 1st, they shrink. BIG TIME!!! My DS is in between a 2T & 3T right now for all his clothes but with those underwear we get him a 4T/5T because they shrink so bad.

By chance, is your dd a preemie too? My dd is very very petite, still wears 12 months, is not 20 lbs yet, and is almost 2. This is why I bought the folding seat. I got mine at BRU. She likes it because it has Elmo on it. I still have to hold her up on it but she seems to like it. She thinks its neat to go on the big potty. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't cover the whole "real" seat. Hope that helps!

Not premie, she was born 7lbs 6 oz at 39 weeks, but she is allergic to milk and eggs and that keeps her from getting a lot of fat. Her allergy is getting better, but she still is very small. She is 20 lbs still at 30 months, but she is very healthy and growing taller. Still she looks too small to walk, and talks like a 3 year old. It freeks people out. We have a folding seat with dora on it, but so far she only wants to use the toliet at home. I have some same complaint about the folding seat. She uses the potty about 6 times a day, and is staying dry a lot. Even telling us when she needs to go so it is coming along nicely.

Then again she is my girl. I am 5 feet tall and always very small. I weighted 93 pounds when I got married. I don't have the problem any more though.

I will check to see what the sanitizer is called when my dd gets up -- it comes from CVS for about 99 cents and is about the size of a Sharpie marker.

My experience with the fold up plastic seats -- they pinched her butt a few times and she refuses to use them. My dd lifts the seat and sits on the rim -- that puts her a little closer to the floor and she has never fallen in.

If you buy the 2T-3T (not Wal-Mart's Kid Connection - those are huge) underwear and wash and dry them on hot they will shrink up pretty small. These are usually the cute ones anyway -- Princesses, Dora, etc. I also think that Gerber makes some cloth training pants that come in smaller sizes (or so I hear from my cousin whose dd is training and only wears an 18mo. clothes).
