Traveling November 5-11, 2017 with DH, DS12, DS9, Mom, Dad, Sister and Sister's friend. After much research, we decided to try to rent DVC points to get a 2 bedroom and a studio at the Beach Club.
I submitted requests with a reputable point broker at exactly the 11 month point, with BCV as our first choice, and WLV as our second choice. Availability was there for both resorts, however only WLV had an owner with the right amount of points at this time. I was ready to make the deal, but my family voted and said they want to stay at the Beach Club and if we aren't able to get the villas, they want to stay in regular rooms at BC.

So...now we are on a wait list. I know that it's 11 months out and I'm probably being overly anxious, but I was just wondering how long we should wait for the villas? What are the chances that we will not be able to get the villas? I appreciate you sharing your experiences.

Also...we are more comfortable using the broker than finding an owner ourselves through the rent/trade boards.

Thanks!

The week you want to go is extremely popular due to Food & Wine. November 2-5 is the Wine & Dine Half Marathon. There are already weekends in October where all of the studios at BCV are gone.

Because there are a number of dedicated 2BR units at BCV, I think you have a chance there. But the studios are likely to go fast, and your rental request is more complicated because a broker will want a single owner with points enough to book both rooms.

My guess is that you may miss out on BCV unless you get really lucky. I know two of the major brokers are pretty much begging for 11-month Epcot points right now.

How would you feel about getting just the 2BR, but then booking a standard room at the BC? Might be the most likely outcome. If you're willing to split your booking, you're more likely to get at least part of the point rental.

That is a great suggestion. Thank you. I would prefer the studio, due to the price, but would rather have at least one villa, so I would definitely consider that. I'm just wondering how long I should wait in queue. Would the broker communicate if there is no longer availability for the studio?

Looks like they are all still available right now. Once you hit the 7 month window for your vacation, I am quite sure that all these will bookup almost immediately (if they're not booked up by the 7 month window). Just ask the broker to keep an eye on everything for you and don't be afraid to hit the rent / trade boards for yourself and see if you can find the points you're looking for. I did see at least one person who is renting his points at BWV and BCV right now.

Good luck and hope you have an amazing vacation!

With waitlisting, I would always have a backup plan for accommodations somewhere (something that is definite and you have the ability to cancel without penalty) even if it were off site.

Why don't you try booking the 2 bedroom with one broker and the studio with another ? It seems the problem is not availability but having an owner with enough points to book both

It's important to know that if you use multiple owners, you won't be able to mark them both as "traveling with" easily, or request they be near to each other. This may or may not matter to you.
