I just got home from BCV and used our owners locker for the first time (actually last March was first time, but got very sick and barely was able to do anything with it) and LOVED it! Filled it to the brim. Our next trip, will be a split stay, and I understand we can get a free drop off and pick up for free once a year. But will Disney transfer your locker, in addition to your luggage to your next resort? Or do they require Owners locker to come get it, and will there be a fee?

Thanks. Anyone else have experience transferring over your locker?

Never had a problem. Admittedly we haven't done a split stay since May, but last April (2019) and September 2018 we transferred between Swan and DVC and no issues at all. (you will need to seal it up with the zip ties, though)

ie: no fee and Disney does it

Perfect, thank you. About the zip ties, we ran out, had trouble figuring them out lol! Do they automatically replace them before sending out the locker to us?

They do, but I bought a pack of reusable zip ties from Amazon and threw them in the OL. I use those when transferring during a split stay, because all I need them to do is keep the OL closed (I have to have my kids sit on it to close it), and then it's easy enough to "unlock" them. Or I cut them if they are too much of a hassle. I use the ones OL provides when sending the locker back, so at least (theoretically) one knows if it's been tampered with.

We don't keep anything valuable in it, though I guess someone might want our old ponchos...

I bought a package of zip ties at my local Dollar Tree. I feel they are much easier for me to use than the ones which Owner's Locker provides.

One weird tip: when locking the Owner's Locker, my instinct has been to start at the top and drop the zip tie down. I feel that it is easier to work if you thread the zip tie through the holes by starting at the bottom and working up rather than down.

(I realize these things may not be logical, hence my use of the phrase "I feel," so no criticism please.)

I keep a pair of nail clippers in my carry-on bag and use them to cut the zip ties when I arrive.

I had trouble with the zip ties last trip just 3 weeks ago. Ruined them trying to force them. We were at BWV and had to switch rooms from standard view to P/G view and left our stuff with bell service, including the owners locker. Got to new room later and called BS to deliver our stuff.

Then when we left I had the bin packed and luckily had 2 working zip ties to put on. We carried it down to BS because we had already packed our car over the prior 24 hours and just had the locker left at check out. And when we sat it on floor we noticed the lid was able to swing open. Lid hadnt caught and locked on the non zip tie end. BS was like 'yeah this is fine. This is how they do it. Nothing wrong.' And I was thinking 'then why the zip ties if it's not supposed to be locked firmly? Duh.' We had no choice but to leave it as we were out of zip ties. Then didn't get message from OL that it was picked up until the next day. I messaged them and asked they re-seal the lid. Not too worried about stolen stuff but worried that stuff will spill out. We will see in Dec if they re-sealed for me.

I didn’t realize until our second or perhaps third delivery that the OL zip ties are designed for easy (relative term) removal without cutting. Just twist - hard - on the Mickey ears. And yes it Is easy to not realize the ”hinged” end isn’t fully secured when closing.
