I just heard about GPT's on the DIS and after reading several threads I decided to check out one of the sites. I looked at Cash Duck and it seemed legitimate, and is also mentioned in several threads here so I went ahead and signed up. For the time being, I really only want to complete free surveys and such, no trial offers or pay offers for now. My question is that literally every offer requires me to put in personal identifying info. Now maybe I am just being ultra paranoid, but the thought of entering my name and address into a hundred differetn sites and surveys doesn't feel safe or smart to me. Should I quit worrying or is there something I am missing? I am hearing great things about these sites, people making a little extra cash, winning prizes etc. but is there something else to it? Will my mailbox be filled with junk mail? Will my name and info be sold to who knows what kind of people/companies? Give me some reassurance here please and let me know what it is I am missing?

Right now there is a HUGE shake down with the rewards sites, which is too bad. But CashDuck and many of us on the boards have earned a decent amount of money on it.

Get a seperate e-mail address for doing these things, you will be FLOODED with e-mails, I am sure I get at least two THOUSAND a day!!

Check out the help files on CD for tips to get things credited and I am sure everyone on here will be of good help.

If you have questions, let us know or PM me.

GOOD LUCK!

I really haven't noticed a huge increase in the amount of junk mail I get in my real life mailbox, but since I've always done alot of online shopping, I've ALWAYS gotten a ton of advertising there.

You definitely need a separate email account because you will receive hundreds and hundreds of "marketing offers."

most of us sign up with a service http://www.privatephone.com. It is free phone number and it is a voice answering messages. It is also handy for real life shopping like at Radio Shack and Toys R Us etc - places where the cashier asks you for a phone number before they will ring up your purchases.

Beyond that it is up for you to decide if you feel comfortable participating. You are required to use a real name and address or it is considered fraud and yes, I'm sure that many of these places are using your name and addresses to sell to Marketers.

I have seen a tremendous increase in spam in my email box from these sites but I have not been flooded with phone calls (I do get some but not a ton) nor physical mail.

Glad to see this thread.

I spent the last two nights (after the kids go to bed) doing CD; got several offers completed--$80 worth (so thanks girls for that--that was $80 I didn't have two days ago), and about 30 or so still pending!

I've gotten a few SPAM e-mails, and it looks like the same 800 calling on my cell phone. I figured it was better to give them my cell phone because I can turn that one off and check it!

I was wondering about the phone calls too; I was going to post and ask you girls if you get a lot of phone calls. As long as I know it's par for the course, I don't mind.

I am focusing on the SWAT site tonight, and I've already signed up about four of the bonus offers on the home page.

You guys are all so helpful and KNOWLEDGEABLE, and I for one really appreciate all the help you post!

Thanks! Deb

I just signed up for Netflix on SWAT for $20.

Now, do many of you girls compare sites? I mean would all the sites (i.e., CD, SR, QR, etc.) offer Netflix for $20 or would some offer more or less?

Do you just get well acquainted enough with the sites to know which ones offer better deals or do you just go with what you see basically?
