We would like to go to Vero in the first week of June can soemone please help me know when the best time is to go ahead and call DVC.

1. I dont understand this waitlist thing.

2. Is it really that hard to get a reservation that you have to go on a waitlist.

3. Is it that hard every where and if so how the heck do you ever use your points?

4. How much does it cost to use points at Vero, like we use points for Cruise it was $75 booking fee.

THANKS EVER SO MUCH!!!!!!

If you know your dates -- and they're not going to change -- I'd call now. Summer is busy.

1. I dont understand this waitlist thing.
You're not alone. It's basically fairly simple. If you call and there is no availability, you can ask to be put on waitlist. Waitlist requests are filled automatically now, so if someone cancels, theoretically that availability goes to the next person on the waitlist whose days match.

You can waitlist either for the entire piece you're missing, or "day-by-day," meaning you do seperate waitlists for each missing day. The problem with day-by-day, of course, is that some days may come through and others might not. The problem with waitlisting for the whole thing is that some days may come through and others may not. Pick your poison.

Depending on the particulars of the situation you are waitlisting, lots of things like banking deadlines and borrowing may come into play. My advice is to be very careful with waitlisting until you've learned all the basic in's and out's of your account.

2. Is it really that hard to get a reservation that you have to go on a waitlist.
No, not usually. However, if you wait too long, you may have to waitlist. And if you are trying to go to WDW during early December and you don't book WAY early, you may have waited too long. VWL in December is very hard to get in the 7-month window. BCV or BWV during Food & Wine is very hard to get in the 7-month window. Grand Villas anywhere have to be booked very, very early.

But for regular ressies, you won't have to waitlist...usually.

The fee to book ANYthing outside of DVC is now $95 across-the-board. But VB IS DVC so you won't pay anything extra there.

That is what i heard. But i just booked our cruise and it was only $75. What is the date this $95started?

And sorry probablly a stupid question but what is the 7 month mark?

You have a 11 month ahead of date booking priority at your home resort, but only a 7 month ahead of date priority at a resort other than your home. That is what is meant by the 7 month mark. Be sure you call from day of check OUT and not check in.

OH THANK YOU!

i did not know that!

WOW i have alot to learn about this DVC stuff!!!!!:goodvibes
