new to DVC --- Abreviation & other?

Hi everyone - we just bought at AKL! I am a little lost on the abbreviation here though - does anyone have a list to share with a new neighbor? My second question is - we have 200 points for SSR to use by 9/16/09 (which is when we bought) this was part of our purchase incentive in addition to the $500 GC. Do we have the 11 month window or the 7 month window for this?

With regard to abbreviations, let's start by using the correct one for the DVC Resort you just bought into: it is AKV (Animal Kingdom Villas), not AKL (Animal Kingdom Lodge.) Here's a link to this board's abbreviation list:

As for the 200 points, those are actually called Developer (or Incentive) Points and they have several restrictions. First and foremost, you only have the 7-month booking priority with them. As you know they must be used one year from your purchase date, cannot be banked, and cannot be used to fill a waitlist request. In addition to SSR, they may also be used to book a Disney cruise, to trade with Interval International, or at the Disneyland Hotels.
