I came to these boards awhile back asking for suggestions on new things to do for a family who has been to WDW 18-20 times in the last 12 years. I got some good ideas, so I thought I would pass along the things we actually did that we enjoyed immensely.

1. Stay somewhere different. For us it was the Beach Club. Loved it. The pool was so much fun we did not even go to a waterpark.
2. Do the Kim Possible missions at EPCOT. These were a lot of fun for all of us. No one is too old to enjoy these. You'll be amazed at the extra effort Disney has gone to in order to make these work.
3. Try new modes of transportation. We were able to walk to EPCOT (undoubtedly the best perk of staying at the BC!), and take boats to DHS. Indirectly related, try a new route to a park or DD. We went from DHS to DD by bus via Saratoga Springs--just gives an opportunity to see something different.
4. Do the Animation Academy at the Magic of Disney Animation in DHS. We did it twice. Once there was no wait, the next time a 30-minute wait, but well worth it. And you go away with a nice Disney souvenir.
5. See the American Idol Experience. The early shows are easy to get into. If you are going to the Finale at 7, get there by 6:30 or so or you will most likely not get in.
6. Walk along the Boardwalk. This is especially good after Illuminations, but if you have to get back to a hotel by Disney transport, it could be problematic. It is also nice before Illuminations if you are in the park and can just pop over. I don't recommend afternoons--too hot! We also ate breakfast on the Boardwalk one morning. It was great early in the day.
7. Get caught in a rainstorm. We are always prepared for the afternoon storms, but this time we went out one evening without ponchos because we thought we had missed the storms. We got soaked--and it was fun. Luckily, we had nowhere to go except back to the room, so we didn't have to wander around wet all evening.
8. Take a tour. We did Keys to the Kingdom, and it was amazing. Loved every minute of it.
9. Have your nails done at one of the spas. You get to enjoy the peace and quiet as well as the royal treatment for about an hour. A great break in the day.
10. Eat somewhere different. We had dinner at the California Grill for our 27th Anniversary. It was awesome. The food was incredible, they gave us complimentary champagne and dessert, and seeing Wishes from the outdoor platform was unforgettable.
11. Eat breakfast in a park. We went to EPCOT, went straight to The Land to get FPs for Soarin', and sat down to eat in the food court. Had a nice leisurely breakfast, rode "Living with the Land", went to see "Honey I Shrunk the Audience", came back, and rode Soarin--all before 10:30.
12. Try another theme park (No flames, please). We went to Universal for the 1st time. We enjoyed it and had a great day, but we're not dying to go back. It was fun, but it's different from Disney--in good and bad ways. It may make you appreciate the Disney way even more.

So that's our list of the BIG things we've never done, and we still have more to do. Can't wait to go again!

Go to Beach Club and go to beaches and cream and eat the kitchen sink ice cream

Awesome suggestions! Our new things we did this past Jan. were DisneyQuest and LaNouba....DS14 loved DQ and LaNouba was amazing!

#8 Take a Tour is one of the best pieces of advice possible. It is off the beaten track, it is truly in depth and hard core Disney most of the time, and a wide audience appreciates the detail.

where exactly in DHS is---> 4. Do the Animation Academy at the Magic of Disney Animation in DHS. We did it twice. Once there was no wait, the next time a 30-minute wait, but well worth it. And you go away with a nice Disney souvenir. ????

Thanks

If you are between The Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney, tucked back in behind is the Magic of Disney Animation. To do the whole thing, there is a presentation you can watch about how a character is brought to life. However, you can skip this part. Go straight thru the store (which has excellent artwork to purchase) and around to the character greeting area. When you come out into the open area, the waiting area on your immediate right is the queue for the Animation Academy.

Mini-golf. We just did this for the first time the last visit, and our youngest son loved it. We did both Fantasia Gardens and Winter Summerland. Be sure to ask for a discount - AP, DVC, AAA, whatever.

We are hoping to fit in a round of mini golf this year.
I also want to do the hot air balloon at DTD.
We are booked for the fireworks dessert party at MK. :)
