New to DISboards

My wife and I are visiting Disney in January to possibly buy DVC. Is there anything we should watch out for, like any hidden catches?

I would like to know the answer to this also. I want to talk to a rep. about them, but I don't want the high-pressure, time-share-type sales pitch.

Hi, first congrat's on your Jan. trip. I am a DVC, member and have been for 10 years. I don't think there are any 'hidden' catches. Our sales rep, Ron Braumbach was not high pressure, and explained everything in detail. If there are things your not sure about, ask for it to be explained again. Remember, there is nothing wrong with asking questions. I would say that every detail is put in black and white, so there is little room for misconceptions. Enjoy, and if you join Welcome. Oops, I didn't mean Welcome only if you joined DVC. I meant to say, one to the dis boards, and if you do join Welcome Home! That's what they have at the DVC resorts since it's suppose to be your home away from home.

Hi, Kaylajr is a cool mod and I was going to mention the DVC boards, except to be quite honest as you can tell I may be old to DVC but I am fairly new to the boards. I almost gave up on the boards, if I would have stayed on the DVC boards. Yes they will send you a big Welcome Home, but if you have a opinion, and your not past a 1000+ post it can become quite ugly and not what I think the Dis Boards are about. Even some of the Mod's can be quite opinionated on those boards. So, just proceed w/ caution, some are user friendly threads and others are why maybe in the WDW, DVC members have gotten a bad name.
