new to digital

I have a canan powershot SX100 and would like to download the picture onto a disc so I can make a power point presentations with all my son's modified soccer team players on it and show it at this years banquet. I am new to all of this digital stuff. I do not know what kind of cables/wires etc... I need to get started. I have a lap top but it is from work and I can not put anything unrelated to work in it so I want to put the photos on a disc. Any info. or suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Lynn

So yo jsut need the photo files so you can build the PP slideshow?

Just plug in the camera and the computer should recognize it and ask you what you want to do with the photos. it should be a standard USB camera cable.

is it ok to add hobby photos to the work computer? I don't think I would mind employees learning and working with the work programs by doing family oriented projects.

As was already stated, your camera should have come with a cable that you can connect it to the laptop via the USB port.

You can access the images directly from the camera while you are building the powerpoint presentation. There is no need to stored them on a cd or anything else just to use for the presentation.
