Hi there!!

I'm very new to Disney and the dining plan. Sept will be our 2nd trip-1st with the dining plan. Can you please tell me what "tips" I may not realize with the dining plan?? There will be 3 adults and 2 children-4 and 1. I guess my most "important" question is what can I get for snacks? If I ask at the location (say we're in DTD or like MK bakery) is it insulting to ask what is included or is it ok? I hate to take up people's time with things I should know (which is why I bother you guys so much!) but don't want to get a bottled water at every snack station if there's better options out there for us.

TIA!:goodvibes

They should give you some information when you check in that will tell you all of the locations that you can use your snack credits. The menu boards at these locations will have noted on them whether an item can be used as a snack credit. Once you see this information you will see that they make it pretty easy for you to know.

The main thing is to make sure you have already made your ADRs.

If you look near the top of the listings on this forum's Dining Plan page,, you'll see a thread about the approved snacks on the plan (these are snacks people have gotten using the DDP this year) Hopefully this link will work, otherwise, look on the Dining Plan main page!

Did you get your reservations for table service meals? If not, suggest you get on the phone today!

Definitely check out the snacks list at the top of the Dining forum. That was a great help to us when we were on the DDP last year. Of course, the plan has changed since then, but the folks here are amazing at keeping things updated.

Most locations will have a little icon showing what items are covered with the snack plan. Some don't. I asked alot when I was just there what was included. If the staff there didn't know, they would just ring it up and try to use my card, if it worked, then it was covered, if not, they just told me to try something else. Most snack/restaurant locations were clearly marked, it was in the gift shops that it wasn't always so clearly marked.

There is a list of snacks for the 2008 plan now...

Sorry I wasn't clear. Yes, I did know that, which is what I meant about them being so amazing at keeping it updated. Unfortunately for me, we won't be going back in 2008 or 2009 or even 2010 for that matter. So I'll be holding out for the 2011 and 2012 snack lists.

Well, there's always the food porn to look at! Here I am, dieting like crazy to lose some more before my next trip...so I spend my spare time looking at the luscious Dis food people post on their dining reviews...such sweet torture!:rotfl:

I'm with you. I'm on the eating healthier plan (I refuse to diet.) and I've lost 16 lbs since we got back from WDW. By the time we go again, I should be a whole new person.

Thank you all so much! I was able to find the list on the top that had the "sticky". We do have our ADRs (thankfully). I've been on the Sept trade board for those that I still *need*. I have to say I was a bit surprised by everything that was offered-I guess I was thinking it would just be a couple of things. That's wonderful! My kids (and mine too) favorite place-Goofy's-has tons of listings!!!

When you get something off the DDP, does each person need to present their card (like at dinner for instance) or is it all stored on one card? Can someone please explain how that works?

Again, thank you all so much for the help. I really appreciate it!

It's assigned to the reservation, so every card is linked together, so you only need to present one. You should also get your receipts with what is left after each meal/snack.
