Since we just bought into DVC in October, we will be purchasing AP with the discounted rate for the first time. Actually, we never bought APs before so I am not sure how it works.
If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. I'm so sorry. I am sure these questions have been asked and answered many times before.

Do I buy the APs at the DVC price at a DVC resort or do I have to do it at one of the parks?

What do I need to bring as ID that I am a DVC member; membership card or just the member number?

Does everyone I am purchasing for (husband, daughter) need to be present when I buy?

Is the discount good on the Premium AP and the regular AP?

If I buy the AP in May and I don't use it until I return in October, it won't activate until my first day I go to a park with it, correct?

What is the current discounted rate for DVC members?

If you pre-order APs through theMembe Website or Memeber Servics you will receive a voucher or will call number that has to be exchanged for the actual pass at a Guest Services location outside one of the parks or at Downtown Disney. Any adult that is getting a pass has to be there, and show ID that lists the same address as the DVC member to receive their pass. The pass is dated to expire one year from the day you exchange the voucher.

You can also not get the vouchers and simply buy the passes in person whn you are at Disney, there is no discount for pre-ordering.

DVC Memeber prices are $100 off standard adult APs, and $125 off Premium adult APs.

Current prices, including discount and tax are:
Standard $370.62 Adult & $326.96 Child
Premium $483.51 Adult & $426.00 Child

The tickets can be purchased here:

I don't know why the link is so long, but it will take you directly to the DVC AP page. I always purchase them in advance and then exchange the voucher that arrives in the mail for the real AP when we arrive at WDW. One year from the first date that they are activated becomes your expiration date. You activate them when you turn them into real AP's at the guest services window at any of the parks. I never purchase Premium AP's because we don't go to the water parks or DisneyQuest often enough to pay the extra $100 for the premium part. If we go to either the water parks or DisneyQuest we pay the one day ticket price. When you trade in your voucher you need to have your DVC membership card. The current price for DVC adult tickets if $348 for the regular AP and $454 for premium plus tax.

I think I hit everything you asked, but there is more information on both the DVC site under Member Perks and the link above.

You get a discount on APs and on PAPs. Here is a table showing the regular prices and the DVC discounted prices, including tax: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tickets.htm#ap

If you purchase an AP at one of the parks or at DTD, it is activated when you purchase it. It will expire one year from the day you purchase it. If you want to purchase in advance (to avoid a price increase for example) then you can purchase a voucher via the members' website or from MS. On the day you go into a park for the first time you exchange the voucher for the AP and your year begins on the day you exchange your voucher for your AP.

I always purchase AP's at Guest Services. Whatever park I am going to first, I arrive a bit early (10-15min) and get them there. You need photo ID and your DVC card.
Super Easy
