I know there have been tip lists, and I try to always read them, so I'm sorry if this is a repeat.
I came up with a new idea that really helped. Now that my twin DDs are 11, we are letting them have more freedom on the ship. We let them check themselves in and out and go up to the 9th deck for food or to movies or whatever (as long as we knew where they were). I gave them a set time to be back in the room for lunch and for dinner.
Well on our last cruise (in September) I bought them watches to wear, but they kept forgetting to put them on, or they just didn't like wearing them. THIS time I happen to notice this 'clip on' watches at Walmart for $5 that were not very large. I clipped them on to the hook at the bottom of the laynards they wore with the Key (they never forgot those, they needed them to get into the Lab and to get back in the room).
Those clip on watches worked GREAT! They could always check the time, and they only had to remember 1 thing, the lanyard with the Key in it. I used those suction cup hooks on the dresser to give them a place to put the lanyards when they returned to the room. They always knew where their keys were and they always knew what time it was.
ANYWAY, that is my NEW tip!
