This was posted on the MiceAge website today on Friday: http://miceage.micechat.com/. It is in reference to an Orange County Register article about a week ago which quoted Ed Grier (DLR President) saying a new attraction was coming this year to DL.

4/25 5PM Special Update: Disneyland's new Tinker Bell "attraction" you've heard about from Ed Grier is actually just a remodeling of the Ariel's Grotto location near the Matterhorn. The new "Pixie Hollow" will be a photo meet n' greet for Tink and her new pixie pals with an attached merchandise cart, just in time for DVD sales this fall. More info to come in the next update. By the way, Ariel will be donning a dress and moving to the Princess Fantasy Faire while her lavish new ride gets built (including a new meet n' greet) for her in DCA. - Al Lutz

Albort,

What do you mean she doesn't talk? Of COURSE, she talks! We just can't understand her fairy language. :)

I'll miss the mermaid version of Ariel! I guess I better hurry and see her before she leaves!

:sad1: Tink is too special to just be hangin' around for photo ops. I think this strips away some of her magic. She's going to become just another character.

I disagree, Tink could never be "just another character" IMO. I'm looking forward to this quite a bit. And I know my DD11 will be soooooooooooo excited!
Thanks for the scoop!! We always like getting the right info!

she sure talks in the Fairy books that my dd and I read. All the Fairies talk.

I hope Ariel doesn't become a permanent part of PFFT.

How can this be considered a ride? Sounds like a autograph / merchandise booth to me.

Aww I don't like this idea.

I agree that it takes away the magic of Tink - a little fairy who will now be larger than most of the children who meet her. It's a little different in the parade and fireworks for some reason :)

Oh, I totally agree here. It takes away her special magic if she's just anyone!!! I don't like her being in the parade either, actually. I like the illusion that she is magic and can fly and flit about anywhere and everywhere. I like that she talks in that high pitched squeaky voice-like sound. Seeing her 5'4" in a costume that looks like it came from the Disney Store takes away from it for me, IMO. Probably not for little girls, though.

And this from an avowed Pixie fan! :lmao:

Still disagree, Pixie's have magic, she will just use her magic to be big while she's meeting people. That's all, then she will shrink down again. I mean, she's not tiny when she's in the parade so it won't be much different, at least IMO.

All they have to do is break out the amazing shrinkatron or whatever they called it from the old inner space ride and that will shrink everyone down to Tink's size.

It's considered an "attraction" No word on whether teenage boys will find it as "attractive" as the Ariel meet and greet.

First it was bound to happen, though many disagree so many people have been asking for a way to "meet" Tinkerbelle they really had to bring her in. The arguement is how you bring in a tiny fairy who doesn't talk to a "Character" everyone can meet, that has kept her in Parades and on zip lines for all of these many, many years. But she is soooooo popular and has such a fan base with many fans begging for her to come to the park again it was just bound to happen. Personally she isn't my fav. but can see both sides. I think many fans will be VERY happy.

I think Ariel is getting the boot because as mentioned above she is getting her own ride and has her own restaurant. I think she is covered.

I heard from one source that PFF is NOT permanate. It will hang around for a while but eventually a show will go in. No time frame was given, but I see why Disney has used it for this purpose. I mean its better then leaving it empty. Yes, maybe the Princess's would all be happliy freed but some might actually find it easier to meet them this way. Don't ask me though I meet characters by running into them not searching for them. No kids here, so not a big deal, like it must be for some of you all.
