I saw this ad at the movies over the weekend for a Tide Spot remover pen type thingy...Not for laundry use but removes sudden spills and spots off of clothes. I am very prone to spilling food on my shirt and wondered if anyone has used them or seen them yet..I looked at Walmart sunday and they did not carry them yet. Are they new or just new to my area...Any info would be great. This looks like a good thing for me.. :sunny:

I bought Tide to Go at my local Acme market in Delaware. I tried it on a red wine stain from last November (Food & Wine Festival). I had previously tried several stain removers which didn't work. After three attempts to remove the old stain with Tide to Go, most of it came out (the stain got lighter each time). I also used it on a small spaghetti sauce stain. Went to the ladies' room, used the stick and the sauce came right out. It's the size of a pen, so it doesn't take up much room in my pocketbook.

I'm definately going to bring it with me on my next WDW trip.

The package says: "The ingredients include biodegradable cleaning agents. It works best on fresh food and drink stains. Does not work well on greasy stains."

I used it on a striped top, both old and new stains. Didn't have any problems with the colors. I hope this helps.

They were right about grease - I tried it on bacon and it made a yellow spot on and around the grease spot. I was about to give up on it but after readin your post, I'll try it again! :mickeybar

Shout wipes are a staple where I work. Someone is forever getting spots or stains on their work clothes. My co-worker spilled coffee down the front of a new sweater just before a presentation. Shout wipes took it out.

As for grease spots, I have been asking around to find out what works best on color cotton knit. Everyone agreed it was a tough one to deal with. Someone suggested Dawn dishwashing detergent. I bought some today and tried small drops and rubbed it with a tooth brush. I was pleased with the results.

I also picked up mine @ Wal-mart yesterday!! Paid $2.94 each.Got 3 of them-1 for the house;1 for keeping in my van;and 1 for DH to take to the office. Also picked up a box of Shout wipes. If they both work well they will be coming to WDW with us.There are times I feel like I am a magnet for stains and spills!! ::yes:: :rotfl:

Can you tell me where in Walmart they carry them?? Are they near detergent, such as the boxes of Tide, near the spot removers like Shout and Spray and Wash or near the travel section??..thanks.

Target has them too. Every target is set up different, but they should be by the laundry stuff. I bought a Tide pen..haven't used it yet. I do use Shout wipes and they are GREAT as well! And I ALWAYS spill stuff on myself..everytime! Right in the old "food catchers" as my 9 yo DD calls them! :rotfl2:

My tide pen worked great on the grey part of my tennis shoes that i couldn't use my bleach pen on. It didn't work on a greasy spot on my shirt. I finally tried De-solvit (sp) which is a degreaser for surfaces, carpets, etc. I sprayed some on and then just washed in the machine. Saved one of my favorite shirts. It also works well on greasy carpet spots.

I am a spot magnet too..I guess I need a bib for eating, so this spot remover pen would be great for me, will also look for those Shout Wipes they sound good too... :sunny:

Blueberry-
My Wal-mart has them in the Laundry detergent aisle but down around the Shout supplies. They were down on the lower shelves and were being held in a cardboard box.I have now taken to carrying 3 spot-removers w/me at all times:Clorox Bleach pen,Tide pen and Shout wipes!! :rotfl: Both my mom and I also suffer from the dreaded "Food-Catcher" syndrome!! Can't wait til Fall and Winter so I can wear dark colors again!! :rotfl2:

Thanks..I found them today, but had to go to another Walmart as my local one does not care them. They do not seem to all carry the same merchandise I have noticed lately...They were next to the Shout and the Spray and Wash items, across the aisle from the Tide Detergent. I bought two pens and I am anxious to try them out, I am a chronic food spiller so these will be great...thanks for all your help.. :sunny:

I picked one up at my grocery store. I had seen them before and when I read the post, I went out and bought it. I am forever spilling stuff on my clothes. I also carry the shout wipes. but this seems to work quicker on the fresh stains. I hope it works well for me too!

For those who purchased them, please let us know how you like them. I LOVE the shout wipes. I tryed the oxy wipes before, and to me, it just didn't compare. I do use the oxy powder for my white laundry though.

I'd love to give the tide a try but I'm so hooked on shout.

*Wish they would come out with a shout pen...it would be easier and nicer to carry than packets!

I tried my Tide pen about an hour ago. My DD (9) spilled several drops of Raspberry Crystal Light on her brand new Limited Too shorts :sad2: which are khaki. Within 2 minutes I used the Tide pen. The results...nothing! It can't get any fresher than that. So, I whipped out the old standy by: Spray and Wash and they're in the washer now. I swear by Spray n Wash, but on the go..the Shout wipes are awesome. Zout has also gotten out some tough butter stains and SOMETIMES I've used a combo of Spray n Wash AND Zout! I'll give the Tide pen another try, but so far..not impressed!
