New Ticket Upgrade Policy?

I tend to think I will be out of luck to bridge. I brought my ticket from UT and it came today. I did it as I can link it for fastpass plus. When I got there I was just going to upgrade to an AP. I won't be there till August though so I tend to think bridging will be a thing of the past then. Not a happy camper.

So far it doesn't seem like the dire first reports that bridging was going away have actually come to fruition. I wouldn't give up hope that it will work out for your upgrade in August.

If we get park passes with a package and don't use them (I have an AP and DH will be upgrading an old 2 day pass) will DH's FP+ choices made according to the number of days on the pass that comes with the package transfer over to the upgraded 2 day pass or will the FP+ choices disappear when we change which pass is his active one?

Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade beyond a 10 day ticket?

We will be at the resort for 12 days, but the kids only have 10 day tickets.

We do have the waterpark fun and more tickets, so we have the option to spend those 2 days at the water parks or Disneyquest, but would like the ability to go to the Theme parks everyday.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Correct. I don't know when you are heading to WDW, but the chance that you will encounter another ticket price increase in the next few months is very slight. BUT, the chance that you'd actually lose more money than you saved by buying an Orbitz ticket and upgrading it before using it, is pretty high. You've already saved money by buying the Orbitz tickets. Just sit tight and wait for your trip, then upgrade the tickets after you've used them at least once.

That has never* been possible. 10 days is the absolute max the ticket can ever have had on it.





*unless it was allowed back before magicyourway tickets...I wasn't going to Disney then so I don't know.

I tried calling about using Disney gift cards toward payment for upgrading to an AP. I was transferred three times, finally ending up talking to someone at central maintenance. He didn't know how to pass me on. Does anyone know if you can use gift cards as payment?

I used $500 dollars in gc I got at a discount from Target, worked great!

Personally, I'd be very shocked if they stopped price bridging, and I really wouldn't worry about it unless I heard Disney actually came out and stated this new policy.

Assuming you have the same experience as everyone who's posted on this thread with a firsthand upgrading experience in the last couple of weeks, the odds are you should be able to price bridge just fine:

I've been keeping a tally since page 40 of this thread. In the last 2.5 weeks, there are 9 firsthand reports of DISers getting tickets upgraded with "normal" bridging, zero reports of anything else (though at least one of the nine did have to try at multiple locations before getting the quote they were looking for).

I have to assume that if there were people getting higher quotes and not being able to bridge using current gate prices, we'd be hearing about it - people are not shy when things go wrong!

The only way to get more days beyond a 10-day ticket is to buy an annual pass.

The ticket sticky actually has a lot of great info, but basically, if you buy discount tickets and use them at least once, Disney has typically "bridged" them to the current gate value of that ticket. You then pay the difference in price from the gate value of that ticket to the AP. Ex: we purchased a 6 day PH with WPF&M NE ticket from UT, saving $65. Disney gave us credit for the gate price of that ticket (I did have to go to 3 different locations though), so we only paid about $25 to upgrade to an AP. Because of the price increase, we actually saved about $78 on an AP.

Keep in mind that the sticky prices are now out of date, as Mike (Cheshire Figment) has not been on the board since early January, and there has been a price increase since then. Methodologies should still be current.

Ahh, I see. Well, probably best as it could have been misleading, or at best, confusing at this point, with the old pricing. Sure would like to see Mike around here again. I did send him an email, no reply.

Use it once or they won't price bridge.

I upgraded UT tickets two weeks ago to an AP at Town Hall in MK and had no issues getting the price bridging.
