I just picked this uup from another board - anybody have the full story. it appeara to imply that tickets bought other than through Disney Store or WDW direct will still have never expire.

"I am taken back by what I read today. I received the Disney Club
monthly news letter today. I was reading about the passes and saw
that there are time limits on the passes.

For years, especially when I worked at the Disney Travel Desk, sold
WDW passes with the fact that they never expired. Disneyland passes
always expired within a year. But WDW passes never expired. So
today, I read that if WDW multi day pass is purchased at a Disney
store, they must be completely used within 14 days of first use.
Then if you buy a multi day pass from WDW they must be used within
two years of first use.

So I called WDW after reading this, just to make sure it does not
effect passes purchased prior to this new policy. The answer was
no. Since I still have unfinished passes from years ago, they remain
unaffected unless they are upgraded to a new pass."

If it applies to all tickets what date did it come in?

I looked in my Disney Club newsletter, and the only thing I could find is information about specials on 3 and 4-day Park Hopper Tickets, but this is for DisneyLAND, and it does the mention that tickets purchased at The Disney Store must be used with 13 days of the first vist and tickets purchased at the Theme Park window must be used within 2 years of the first visit. Could this be what that person is referring to? I didn't find anything regarding tickets for Disneyworld and time limits.

If it doesn't work, it is on themeparks.com (obviously!); message boards; Walt Disney World; new ticket policy?

I think as Ltl Tee suggests CherylH319 may have the wrong end of the stick, but a former Cast Member should know how things work? I notice agencies are still pushing no expiryy for hoppers for WDW.

1) There are special passes, usually sold to conventioneers.
2) They are sold at a special rprice.
3) These must be used within a limited time.
4) The time clock starts on the first day's use.
5) These are typcially 2-day, 3-day and 4-day Park Hoppers.
6) They usually include on Pleasure Island admission.

I bought passes last year from a vendor.......with the knowledge that they would be good forever as we will not be able to use all the days this coming trip.....do I or do I not have to be concerned???

I love how rumors get started and misinformation spreads like wildfire. Whoever CherylH319's "reliable source" is doesn't know how to read.

As LtlTee posted previously, the tickets being referred to are for Disneyland, not WDW. The page is plainly marked in the entire length of the left-hand margin as "Disneyland Resort | Vacation Packages | Tickets".

Example of one item:

$10 off 3-day Park Hopper Ticket
Both child and adult tickets available. Limit to maximum of 5 tickets. Tickets purchased at The Disney Store must be used within 13 days of the first visit. Tickets purchased at the Theme Park ticket window must be used within 2 years of the first visit. First day of use must take place on or before 01/05/04.

WDW doesn't even offer a 3 day PH ticket at TDS or at the gate.

There is NO CHANGE to any WDW ticket policy...period.

Sorry, folks - looks like I helped spread a false rumour!

What a :jester: !
greenman2, you weren't the problem here.

The poster from the other board who posted the info from her "reputable source" should have known better. Something like that was very easy to substantiate. Any DC member could have set her straight.

Whew! I'm so glad this isn't true. If it was, I was afraid I might have contributed to the policy change. Last week when we were there, we used 7 old passes I'd found from 1987 and 1989 that still had 1 day left on them. $14 to enter the park instead of $52!
I was afraid WDW was going to make sure no one could do this again.

Hey - how is it you guys are DC members and I was kicked off the DC - they told me they were discontinuing that program!!! I am getting really peeved - anybody know??

If you had a card that expired in 2003, you could extend it to the end of 2003. Mine expires next month, I called and renewed it for $12.57 to 12/31/03.

I think mine is already gone - but thanks for the info - that was a good program and it's too bad that they discontinued it. They don't seem to think they need to give anyone discounts these days - too bad.

. . . WDW doesn't even offer a 3 day PH ticket at TDS or at the gate . . .

1) They are not offered at the Gate or TDS.
2) However, they ARE offered in 1-day, 2-day and 3-day Hoppers
. . . certain ticket broker web sites
. . . on web sites of selected conventions
. . . in the lobby of conventions in Orlando hotels
. . . in the lobby of Swan and Dolphin conventions

It is a shame, but few people know (or believe) the REAL amount of WDW ticket options that are available. WDW has MANY special deals to attract guests - especially conventioneers who might not otherwise take the time to visit the parks.

She read it from another source and it is for Disneyland not Disney World.
