FYI, interesting new WDW ticket option announced today: http://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories...e-park-tickets-with-pre-selected-itineraries/

From wdwinfo.com:
Disney is now offering one-day, one-park tickets that include pre-selected FastPass+experiences attached to the park admission.

There are several attraction packages to choose from and the FastPass+ selections have already been linked to the purchased park admission so that guests purchasing last-minute tickets don’t have to worry about finding and making those selections themselves.

As of now, the pricing for these tickets is the same as the one-day tickets that do not include pre-selected itineraries, but we’ll keep you updated with any new information that we find.

Still digesting this myself. Thoughts?

I think it's good. I was worried that they'd include the most popular rides and charge a premium but looking at what they've offered it's really targeted at those who don't want to bother doing it themselves. Almost every pre-selected ride is one that you can usually easily get as a 4th FP each day. Can't see this as it stands affecting much of anything for those who pre-book.

to us, they just look like the worst possible FP options, but maybe it will benefit someone with little kids who didn't know to plan ahead.

Ha ha yes, I always thought that Pooh ride was a gateway to even more hallucinigenic fun.

I wonder how their system will handle figuring out "leftover" FPs for day-of....are there a set number of tickets with these preselected inventories and those FPs are no longer in the mix, or do they just sell what they can and the system will be smart enough to see how many are actually purchased and accounted for.... and then put the leftovers into the general pool...

I don't think this is a bad move on Disney's part in that I think it is nice for people who don't plan ahead and may not know how to schedule their own fastpasses. With that said, I don't really see much value in these particular attractions. Not bad, just not particularly difficult ones to get. I think I'd rather take my chances of making fastpasses in the park as I go. I can see where it might be useful if you had a larger group of people who all wanted to ride together. It would be more difficult to co-ordinate that on the fly in the park.

Tickets for lame rides and some will eat this up. Makes me laugh though because I remember not that many years ago, here on the DIS, people were saying "No way will Disney ever tier Fast Passes to give an advantage to those staying in deluxe resorts." "No way will Disney charge resort parking." Who wants to guess what the next money maker will be at WDW?

I think for those who travel at the last minute or have small kids, this could be a very good option.
I do wonder how long before and "upgraded one day one park" pass will be available for an upcharge with Fps for 3 of the top rides. How much would people pay for a ticket with a FP to FoP? or next year Star Wars?

I think people will definitely go for this. When talking to other guests on line, it was amazing how many people had no idea that fast passes were included with park admission. And yes, I agree that in the future, Disney will probably offer tickets at higher prices with premium attractions already linked.

I haven't been to Universal in over 10 years, but at the time they charged extra for the FP equivalent. Now I believe they offer that as a perk for staying at one of their hotels.

I was always pleasantly surprised that Disney never went that route. Then they sort of started with the 60 versus 30 day advance booking thing.

And now this. Linking FP to a ticket is of course just a first step to premium ticket pricing with FPs built in. Essentially the Universal model.

Seriously - I can't criticize Disney given supply and demand.

To me - the issue is it's been way too long since they added a park (over 20 years now).

I think they could actually support two more - with one of them being a mirror image MK. Then we can get a resort package that includes FPs to one of the MKs and 2 other parks. Very expensive to build obviously so it will never happen.

But hey - a dream is a wish your heart makes.
