New Ticket Option - 4 Park Magic Ticket

It's not an option I have any interest in, but I can't recall the last time I spent a full day in one park aside from travel days. And yeah, a full day at HS right now would be mostly wasted.

That's us as well. Even MK is a half day (as are both US parks), but we are spoiled (if 80 hour work weeks is spoiled) and visit a lot. Opening one park, then taking a break-leaves the 2nd park as a nice change of scenery.

Still good to see some other options for other folks to consider.

Will likely go away once Pandora and SW/TS lands open of course, but a discount for now will help/work for some I hope.

Personally I find AK to be a full day park and has plenty to do.

Universal has been marketing Volcano Bay as a third park since they announced it.

I agree about the marketing it was just wishful thinking on my part about it being not as pricey

As I posted above I think its more to get people to go to DHS and to a smaller extent AK. They maybe seeing a rise in MK attendance and a drop in DHS.

We were gifted these tickets for Christmas from my parents, although we had the choice of regular tickets. Didnt want to be overly greedy. We have always had park hopper for our trips (im well over 20 separate trips, my husband about 6 -he grew up visiting DL instead.). We always viewed AK as half day, and usually just skipped it. DHS was half day too. But admittingly, we missed lots. This gives us the opportunity to take our time and not want to rush off to another park. Our kids, 5 & 7, have each gone to wdw 5 separate trips and have spent a total of 5 hours at aK and about 18 at dhs. They might actually really like it and the structure of these tickets are the only way we'd find out!

A three-day ticket for Volcano Bay along with Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure costs $245 for one park per day. One that allows you to hop between parks on the same day costs $295 – almost $100 a day. Children younger than 10 get a $10 discount.

This fits my theory - that a good theme park should cost about $100/day. Uni will have three complete theme parks next year and that's about what they will charge.

Disney has been stuck in the rut of offering one complete, $100 park and three discounted $50 parks for a long time now.

Instead of completing the discount parks it seems that Disney's plan is to give each park a little bump or tweak of interest every couple of years ... the Frozen tweak, Rivers of Light bump, Toy Story bump, and so on. It may be a successful plan but I think that none of the currently planned tweaks or additions will bring any of the three stepsister parks (or water parks) to anywhere near the size and scope of attractions of MK, USF, IOA or Volcano Bay.

It depends on the lingering aura of pixie dust and the continuing appeal of hot IP "of the moment" to work.

ETA: plus the appeal of packaging discounts or pseudo-discounts such as free dining ...

Maybe I misunderstand, but you consider SW land and Pandora "bumps"?

I think the addition of SW land and Pandora are the attempt to turn what is normally a half day park into a full day park, especially Pandora.

I'm with ya on that. While DHS might still be lacking an attraction or two to make it a complete park I think with Pandora, AK will most definitely be a complete park.

I disagree, I don't think that is their thinking at all. This is Disney giving people another option because attendance overall is down. They are trying to attract people. They are also releasing this the same day Universal revealed a similar ticket option for 3 parks (Volcano Bay opens in 2017).

For me though, my first reaction is - "yeah great Disney, you want me to pay that for 4 parks with nothing fresh and new compared to Universal's 3 parks that all have fresh and new things - and more coming".

Well you're bringing this argument to the wrong person. I'm a huge AK person and am extremely excited for Pandora.

I have a question about these tickets. I know that these aren't park hoppers, but we're only going to be there 3 days. Could we double up two of the parks into one day? I know we couldn't go back to the first park but I'm not sure why they wouldn't let us into the second?

Also I see nothing posted about these tickets that restrict you from leaving a park and coming back the same day just like any other ticket.
