I just found the DIS Boards a couple of weeks ago, and have lurked here and there ever since then. I thought I should start participating, so I will start with this introduction thread.
I've been thrilled since I found this place because I am in the very early stages of planning a Disney vacation. As far as my Disney history, the story is as follows: I stayed off the property during the week of Christmas when I was 7 years old, so I don't remember too much from that trip. I went back to Disney World in 2006, when I was 16. We stayed at the Walt Disney World Swan because we were there for a convention. The rest of my family attended the convention ceremonies, while I went to all the parks on my own. Then I came back again, and stayed off the property, in March 2008 for spring break and my 18th birthday. I've been to Universal Orlando and stayed off property on two separate occasions as well.
It's been nearly three years, and needless to say...I'm ready to go again! This will be the first trip that I will be making on my own (without my family), and I am wanting to kind of go all out and stay on the property. I still want to stay within reason, but I'm trying to make this a very special vacation. To add to the excitement, I will be taking my girlfriend of three years on this trip with me. The best part about it is that this will be her first trip ever. So long story short, we are both very excited about this. As I said, I am still in the beginning stages of planning this trip, but I look forward to using this amazing board to help with the planning.
