New Thrill Rides at Hollywood Studios

Heck, I just wanted to know if there were going to be more thrill rides, since ToT is my absolute fav but not always enough to entice me to schedule in some time over there for just the one ride. . . .and somehow this turned into yet another trainwreck which occur in the strangest places.:confused3

But the good news is. . .I am a notorious thread killer, so as I post this, the thread is officially doomed to end. . .so people can go derail on some other rumor.

Sorry to say, you didn't kill this thread.

I heard that there would be five new attractions at DHS, not five thrill rides. Toy Story Mania and American Idol are two on the list, and maybe the new Block Party Bash parade also counts as an attraction. If so, that only leaves two more attractions to add, and the rumored Ratatouille coaster may or not be one of them, depending on whether or not they build it.

Another new attraction is the new version of "Playhouse Disney-Live on Stage!" at Disney's Hollywood Studios, based "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," "Little Einsteins" and "Handy Manny."

Throw in a new Pixar meet-and-greet at Pixar Place and you have five new attractions (counting Toy Story Mania, American Idol, Block Party Bash).

none of which, with the possible exception of TS Mania, is a real blockbuster

They could bring the new Little Mermaid ride in DCA to DHS and replace the Little Mermaid show. I would think that would only happen if the ride is sucessful in DCA. New Dark rides are always welcome, it would be a nice break between ToT and RRC.

Before moving to Florida and using our own car to get around WDW, we flew down and used the bus system regularly. Heard some really outrageous "news bites" from bus drivers. One of the sillier ones was that the concrete pillars that support the monorail beams were only supposed to have a practical use life of 25 years, and that they were nearing there "expiration date" when we visited in 1996. Well, here it is, 11 years after that so-called expiration date, and haven't heard of a support pillar failure yet........ So take what a bus driver tells you with a grain of salt. Of course, they still seem to be having problems with the monorail itself breaking down on a regular basis, but no pillars collapsing.

it's tales like that, that now have the drivers running a "taped" speil.
