New Thread - What have you seen on the EA?

A 2 door Malibu is considered a full size car?

I don't think they make 2-door Malibu models...maybe the poster saw an Impala? Not sure!

We just got back from a 16 day trip, and when we arrived three hours late to the EA at 1:45 AM on 9/16, the aisle was absolutely loaded with SUV's, PT Cruisers, and basically anything one might want. It almost (but not quite) made the lengthy flight delay worthwhile. We took a 2006 Torrent with 122 miles on it.

Gotta love the EA! Where else can you get a 16 day rental of a SUV for $316?!?

We had a full size ER reservation, and all they had were Malibus, but they were 4 door, and one very beat up Buick LaCrosse. Those Malibus are so small, I could not believe that they were full sized! I asked the attendant, and he said, yes they are full size. He told me I could take something off the EA if I preferred, so I took a 2006 Saturn Vue. It was very nice.

I did see a couple of minivans on the EA when we were returning. Bummer that they didn't have them when I picked up!

A Fullsize 2 Door would be considered a Chevrolet Monte Carlo...

I got to MCO at 9:30am on Friday 9/23. I had a full size res but they only had 2 cars (Impalas) and they were ugly. I asked if I could take something off the EA and they said OK. I took a beautiful color blue 2006 Saturn Vue. I loved this car!! it only had 420 miles on it. I wanted to keep it! Alot of nice cars were on th EA.

Yikes....I did ER because I need a full size car...but a Malibu isn't what I would consider a full size car! I'll be really pissed off if I get there and the selection in the EA is way better than in the full size aisle.

Is the La Crosse considered a full size? Is the only choice you get for full size an Impalla?

I'm almost considering to go EA instead of full size. Of course I would not be able to tell DH! I'd be landing in Orlando around 2:00 pm on Nov 13. Seems like that wouldn't be a busy time and maybe they would have a lot of cars to choose from on EA? Any opinion? :confused3

I would then ask the attendent if you could take a car off the EA. When I was there with friends in March, all they had on full size was a convertible. We asked an attendent and he said we could take a car off the EA, we took an Aztec. They asked at the booth if we were Emerald Club, we said yes but my friend forgot to bring her card. They looked it up and we were OK.

Just got back late last night.

Picked up on EA Thursday, Sept 29 at 1:15a (flight delayed 3 hours!!) and all that was on the EA were small SUVs, I believe all were Saturns. Sorry don't know more. I drove off in red one. Once on highway realized both mirrors weren't working...tried to fix with broken button and got worse and worse. Drove back to National and exchanged because I couldn't drive like that AND didn't want to be blamed for it being broken. She told me to wait at the exit and she'd drive over with another SUV. She came over with a white full size SUV, a Trailblazer. Liked this one much better.

Was worried when I returned that I'd be charged more since I had a full size SUV. I was charged more but was charged for a reservation I made and canceled previously for $72 instead of my current reservation for $66. I didn't fight it since I liked the car so much and it was only $6 more.

Just be careful when they are checking you out that they write the correct reservation number on your paperwork.

It was indeed a 2 door malibu and the only car in the lot. My daughter was upset and went to the kiosk and they told her to choose from a full size in the Alamo lot. (she would have loved to choose from the EA lot, but didn't get that offer.) Before she headed to the Alamo full size aisle an Impala was returned and she took it. Not only did we think a Malibu was not full size, but a 2 door would never do with a baby car seat to put in the back...ugh.

I can't seem to get onto the National website. Is it down? (or is it just me?)

Lets all hope that they trash the new site and bring the old one back....a girl can dream. Not a fan of the new website.

Sorry!

The last 2 door Malibu's made were in the 70's.

The full size 2 door car had to be a Monte Carlo....

Just got back last night. We were on A side on the 23rd to pick up our vehicle. The lot was full of vehicles. I don't think I saw an empty spot. I saw alot of Saturn Vues, Chevy Malibus, Pontiac G6's. I saw one PT Cruiser and Pontiac Torrent, which is what we took. It was a nice vehicle. It is a sport utility vehicle. Ours came with 175 miles and leather interior, ;) heated seats, sunroof and luggage rack. I highly recommend this truck. I loved riding around in this vehicle. It is the only Torrent we saw for the week we were down there. Made it really easy to spot in the crowd. :wave2:

You must have missed my Torrent picked up on EA earlier that day! The gold one was a little harder to find, I think. It helps if you take careful note of where you parked, I guess. Same features, but mine had less than 100 miles on it when I picked it up. I returned it with about 305 miles on it, though. I kept getting lost! I must have visited the Animal Kingdom parking lot three times before actually entering the park.

Loved the EA! I'm now completely spoiled by renting a car. I'm very torn about it on my next trip. I only rented a car this time, because everyone else in my group was staying at another resort. I love the ease of riding the buses, but the convenience of having a car right there? It's hard to resist.

ETA: Whoops! Kycha, I think the reason you wouldn't have spotted me is that I picked up my Torrent exactly one week later. Sorry, I still have vacation brain!

We walked past the EA on the A side of the terminal on Friday, September 30, around 9AM. There were many cars, vans, mid-sized SUVs to choose from.

We rented a minivan this trip, but after seeing the choices on the aisle, we found ourselves wishing we had used it instead.

but then again madge it is always a crap shoot as to what they will have on the aisle.....

now if you could call EC and they told you you would find other than intermediates on the EA then it would not be so much of a gamble.....

absolutely! We had a minivan booked for $140, and the Aisle reservation was $129...it was definitely worth the $11 difference in price to have guaranteed a minivan. We have 3 children and need the space!

Saturday October 1 about 1 PM, A side

at least 3 Vues, several G6, several Malibu Maxx, 1 Torrent and another parked while we were installing carseats, and 3 Chevy Equinox.

We took a red Equinox and really enjoyed it. A G6 or Malibu Maxx should have been fine since we drove TO the airport in a Honda Accord but the extra cargo space in the SUV was nice.

Executive Aisle had an HHR and at least 3 Uplanders.

Looking into a trip to Tampa soon, and I was wondering if the Tampa EA is the same setup as the Orlando EA?

Thanks Alot

We arrived on the A side on 10/8/05 at around 5:30 p.m. There was only one vehicle on the Aisle - a white Pontiac Vibe. We took it but could probably have asked for something from the Executive Aisle. The Executive Aisle had several HHR's. My DH would have been happy to drive one of those. We got great gas mileage with the Vibe and we both enjoyed driving it.
