Just ordered a new widescreen telly - can't wait for it to arrive now :)

What size did you go for Tim  We have a 32" wide screen and when we first got it I didn't like it :( I thought it looked too big and wanted my old 28" back but my DH stood his ground and I have got to say I can't imagine having a smaller one now:p :p that sounds quite rude SORRY:eek:

Enjoy anyway

I'm getting a 28" Panasonic - anything bigger would take over the room :)

Does size matter?

;)

Ohhh lucky you, we need a new t.v! along with other things lol

Beth xoxox

P,s size doesnt matter ;)

How did you choose what to buy? It's quite bewildering when you look into these things. Our main TV is really old but has the most amazing picture!

It is unbelievable! It's been struck by lightning twice - both times it was off but the plug point was on. The first time smoke actually appeared at the back but when it was turned on later, it worked fine. The second time we thought it was dead but it went off for repair and they called me to say that just the on/off switch was burned out......... and he said they were all watching it on the bench, praised the picture quality and asked me if I knew that although it was in a Ferguson casing, the inside was not Ferguson - it was some really good make and there can't have been many models like that produced............. we did know actually, because we were told when we bought it ( thought it was sales pitch  !!)

Well our 'limited edition' is...............16 years old and as good as new!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the width makes a big difference to your enjoyment (of the TV)

Shirley, it's taken me about 2 weeks to decide on what set to get. I started of looking a 24" WS then decided that they were to small so started looking at 28" WS. I did the usual trips to the local Currys, Comet, local TV shops etc. decided my budget and just looked to see which one had the best picture and the features I wanted. Trouble is with every trip to the shops my budget seemed to go up :)

In the end I went for the Panasonic because it had the best picture in most of the shops I visited. (after picking the Panny I bought a copy of What TV&Video magazine and by coincidence the set I chose was voted as a best buy).

Don't pay High Street prices though - I saved £150 buying on-line compared to Curry's price for the same set!

Ok, Tim, now let me get this straight -----

Redecorating......

2 week trip to WDW just planned ..........

Now a new WS Television!!!!!!!

Tell me Tim, what do you REALLY do for a living?

LOL LOL LOL LOL

Or did you do it the old fashioned way .... rob a bank??? LOL

Congrats on the new TV :) :) :)

Lorraine

I think we really need a new telly - we've got 3 and the biggest one is a 15 inch, the other 2 are portables.... now that I think about it, they are pretty pathetic, but we are so used to them that we just don't even give it a 2nd thought.

Tim,

You will have to let me know what the Panasonic is like when you get it set up.
We have been looking to replace ours and the Panasonic 36" WS really caught my eye.

Congratulations on the new television, Tim.

Shirley, my aunt has a television with a wonderful picture that is one of those console models. It has to be at least 25 years old and still going strong. The manufacturers must have done a better job back in the "olden" days :)

Remember the good ol'days when we actually had to get up off our behinds to change the channel?:)

:earseek: Really?? You mean there was a time before remotes ;) ?

I'm so $%^&* annoyed. Waited in all day for the TV to arrive and nothing showed up - so rang the supplier and was told it will be here NEXT TUESDAY

So - one wasted day off work and no TV

I know exactly how you feel. I took a day off work a couple of weeks ago as we were having some fencing done in our garden. They failed to turn up, they gave various excuses none of which I actually believed.

It was done a week later and they knocked £170 off the bill so I was happy in the end.

Hope you're pleased when it does arrive.

:smooth: :smooth:
