I was scrappin' all weekend long at my neighbor's cabin at the lake with five other scrappin' neighbors. We were talking about how much we like decorating shows on HGTV and then got to Trading Spaces. And then it hit us all almost simultaneously - how about doing a "Trading Pages"? We would each give another scrapper some photos and a blank page (or two) from our albums, and the recipient would scrap the page (or spread), with her own supplies. We worked out some of the details, but it was close to the end of the weekend trip, so we didn't have time to actually do it. But we might in January during our HUGE scrapping weekend at a hotel.

Someone likened the concept to quilting circles, where each person sews on a row/section, and passes the work-in-progress to the next person in the circle. At the end, you get back a completed quilt.

Sounds cool, huh? Just thought I'd share.

That is a great idea, Lynne! I would be interesting to see how your "page" came back to you!! How cool! :)

What a great idea. It sounds like "Trading Pages" could be lots of fun. And just like the designers in the show, you could try out new techniques that you've never used before. ;)

I recently did a page similiar to this . We surprised my daughter with a " While you were Out " - " Surprise by Design ' room make-over for her 17th birthday . She left that morning for work and my family and I cleared her room , painted her walls , set up a new bed , painted her dresser , and put in new linen . My sister who is a designer sewed curtains for her windows and other family members contributed different items to her room to complete it . We didn't finish in time ( before she came home ) , but we did have her bed made , the paint and wall border up before she arrived . She screamed for about ten minutes ! I captured all of this on my digital camera and did a 7 page lay-out of the day . We have pictures of her dad working on her bed ( we called it - "dad at work " , there is also a pic of my familyroom with all of her stuff in it - I call that "trading spaces " . Her two year old cousin got in the act and helped to paint her dresser - that was in labeled " cheap child labor " ). It was a lot of work ( looks easier on tv ) , but it was worth it just to see her face . I wish I knew how to scan my 12x12 pages and set them up on the internet .
