Just got back from WDW and saw a few things that got me wondering. Stayed at the Contemporary and saw surveyors there almost daily, ( mostly in the frot parking lots adjacent to the wings). Also noticed alot of earth moving equiptment just past Coronado Springs out by Blizzard Beach, They seemed to be clearing what looks like a new road. Anyone got the scoop???

I would suspect that the activity by the Contemporary would be the long-rumored addition of a DVC wing (or the remodel of one of the "Garden Wings"). As for the other work, I have no idea.

Is it possible you saw the construction at SSR? That woudl be out towards BB.

SSR is actually nowhere near BB. SSR is across the lake from DTD.

I believe the clearing is for a new road. A new "west entrance" which will run off of the new 429 "Western Beltway" that is currently under construction. The 429 will eventualy be connected southbound to I-4 to continue with the 417 "Greeneway" loop around greater Orlando. Therte is a HUGE master planned community due west of WDW called Horizons West that this will benefit.

Were the surveyors outside both wings or just one of the wings? If they were surveying the North Wing, this could point to the long rumored DVC addition. They have recently announced a major refurb to the south wing, so it is probably safe to say there will be no DVC there. My understanding though, is that the DVC rumor always centered around the north wing.
