NEW STUFF!!! on the Polynesian pages.

Steve:

Thanks so much for all of the work you've put into your web site! Our next family WDW vacation will be spent at least partly at the Polynesian and I know that once I start planning, I will be LIVING on your web site!! :teeth:

Again, thanks so much! And I do like the separate pages for the longhouses!!!! :)

Thanks for the new info, Tikiman! Your site looks great!

Okay, Steve, I just looked thru your entire site (I'm still amazed with it! I've seen the site MANY times!), and I'm wondering when they are going to renovate Tonga? I'd love to try a suite in there sometime (the 1BR Princess), and I would like to try it after it's renovated (if they are going to renovate it).

Thanks!!! ;)

Tikiman's site is my main reference point for the birthday hoopla trip (not many days left) and my first Disney concierge stay. My friends and I are planning our days around the concierge evening food schedule.

First time staying at the Polynesian, too! I wanted to stay there when I was nine, but the folks said no.

Wow!!! Your site looks great! It really made me miss the Poly. It's easy to see why my family loves the Poly when I look at your site. Thanks for all the hard work you and Tara put into the site!

Steve..... Many thanks for all you did to help so many. We stayed in Hawaii 20 years ago on our honeymoon, but it was called something else then. We are hopinjg to get the same room again. We know it was halfway down facing the lagoon on the second floor. My understanding is that Hawaii IS a concierge room, which is what we are looking for. Is there any chance you can stay in a non-concierge building, like say Tahiti and then get concierge service at an adjoining building? How difficult is it to get an upgrade, considering it really is our 20th andwe have been back 14 times since then? Thanks again.

Cali,

I don’t know when they are going to renovate Tonga but it looked like it was in awesome shape when we went through it. No worn carpets and all the furniture was is great shape.

Coashsting,

I thought about it being a good idea if you could stay in your favorite longhouse and get concierge service or at least use the lounge but then I thought it would not be good to over crowed the lounge with people from other buildings. As of now you can not get concierge service in another longhouse other than Hawaii and Tonga. You can try and upgrade once you get there but the concierge sells out months in advance. Sometimes there is a day or two between people checking in that you can get into a concierge room. I would check when you get there. You never know if someone canceled.

Aloha

Steve

Thanks Steve. My DD & I are planning a trip to WDW in March & she really wants to stay at the Polynesian (her favourite resort). Your site is great & just what we need to get all the info before our trip. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Aloha, Tikiman!

Love the separate pages! Super, as always!:)

When we have Poly withdrawal (which is every day until our next visit!;) ), we go to your site!

MAHALO!

but the concierge sells out months in advance

Shoot! I was hoping that if I booked GV Concierge the last week in Jan 2003 that I might be ungraded to LV. No dice?????

January may be a little less crowded so the concierge may not be as booked but you never know. The concierge bookings sometimes go up in the colder months because people spend a little more time at the resort when it is not as hot out. As far as getting upgraded for free from GV concierge to LV concierge, it happens very rarely and usually because of overbooking. More often someone who paid for a lagoon view standard room will be put in a lagoon view concierge room because they overbooked the lagoon view rooms and the Polynesian wanted to make sure they got their view and the only LV rooms are in the Hawaii concierge longhouse. That happened to us in 2000.

Steve,
Thank you so much for sharing with us!!! I read the first few pages and a tear came to my eye. The Polynesian was the very first restort I stayed at "way back then" and eventually, got engaged there. So this resort holds many, many special memories for me.

I can't wait to get home (I'm at work) and really sit down and go through the entire site.

Again, thank you.

Aloha Steve,

Nice post of the Poly! We're arriving Sept. 16, 2002, staying at the Poly (lst time) Thanks for the outstanding preview. ;) Very informative.

We love the pictures. We've stayed at the Polynesian 7 times. We love it there. Unfortunately we will not be staying there for our August trip. We are now doing 2 and three trips to the World a year so we can't afford the Poly every time. We'll be there again though, that's our little spot of Paridise.

:bounce: Tikiman great site, the depth and detail are fantastic. I loved the Poly when I stayed there last year, great resort; great location.

Steve,

Thanks so much! It really looks great!!
I especially like the Stitch cameos.
------
Last year I called two weeks before arrival to upgrade to GV Concierge, and got it. (second week Dec, which is a slow time). Not only that, but the second floor of Hawaii seemed kind of empty while we were there. So there seem to be times when it is not sold out, let alone far in advance.
