My son is going to be 7 by the time we go. He is still small an would fit on the back of those sit an stand strollers. His old one could still work but its so big an bulky an we dont need that big of one.
(ps we do like using the bottom an what ever part isn't being used of the stroller for other things to. purse drinks bag)

Even tho i only have one kid would a sit an stand work well?
(i wont use the cheap ones like umbrella ones. they seem to brake alot )

Thank you for any help or suggestions

Im trying to keep my spirits up an think only bout Disney right now

If I were you, I'd rent one of the DL stollers. They are the nice jogger type stollers (at least they were 6 years ago when I was there last, lol), and they steer through the crowds quite nicely. Even though your ds could stand, he will be tired and want to sit, standing in line takes a lot out of those little legs. It will make life a lot easier on the entire family if he has the chance to rest.

Jade, your little dude's not so big, he'd totally fit in a DL rental. DD was nearly 6, and she's super tall for her age. She was very comfortable in one. If you need one to get back and forth to the hotel, bring a cheapie umbrella to use just for that, then leave it at the rental place and use a rental during the day...? :)

lol but do those things have any under parts to have bag in or something?
i did think about renting one of those

My son who is now 8, easily fits in the back of the sit and stand. It is easy to push if he is in it. It is when you add the second child in the front that it starts to get harder to push! Of course my two are on the outer edge of the weight limit!

I brought the stroller to WDW last summer and my then 4 and 7 year olds rode in it just fine. They are both big enough to walk but sometimes it was just nice to have a place for them to sit. It was also a huge help walking from the front of the hotel to the room.

I considered leaving it at home for our DLR trip because we have the free rentals because of our Chase Visa. The thing is, they don't need it so much in the park, it is the walk "home".

The kids will be 5 and 8 this summer and I would think that this will be the last summer that I can get away with a stroller! By next year, I bet I won't be able to see over my 8 year old. I will really miss it. My 8 year old has a prothetic leg and does great walking but it is really nice that we can give him an easy break. :goodvibes

We have a joovy caboose, which is a streamlined sit n stand. The basket underneath holds quite a bit, and the tray on the front can be removed so a bigger kid can just hop in.

how much they run?

I think they're $12 a day now? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. But if you can get a Disney Visa (don't have to use it, just have it) then you get 2 stroller rentals a day, free. Another thing: if you go back to the hotel midday for a break, and come back, you just keep your receipt, and you can get another one free. The rental is good for all day, if you keep your receipt.

But, whenever we came back from our midday break, we just took one of the abandoned strollers that were left by the security tables in the Esplanade. There's always a ton there by the afternoon. We'd kept our nametag and we just popped it in the window on the overhead canopy.

My 11 year old daughter fit just fine with her legs bent. The wheels are great! The stroller glides over the concrete better than any stroller from home. At WDW we use an abandoned stroller late in the day when our kids are very tired of walking around. Just look for the strollers without a name tag or personal stuff in the seat. The "cart collector" employees seem pleased that we bring them to the front gate for them at the end of the night.

Disney VISA card holders get 2 FREE stroller rentals at DL per day. Single strollers only.

You may park hop all you want with any rentals except if DCA is closed then you are not allowed to take a rental out of Disneyland. You may rent in one park and drop off at another. Yes, it is 2 Disney Visa card stroller rentals a day. Strollers are single seat only. Keep your receipt and they will give you a new rental except for ECVs which you keep the key and receipt and leave it with them to recharge. If it is really crowded you can leave a rental with the rental place and they will hold it for you.

By rental I mean wheelchairs, ECV and strollers. They will even hold your canes, crutches, strollers etc. for you. There are a lot of strollers at security gates because you do not get anything back if you return at the rental place. So they just take the stroller as far as they can.

No taking rentals on the monorail either. Disabled guests may transfer to the monorail and then have the item parked. I wish they did Visa discount for wheelchairs and scooters.

i have read alot on this brand how long have you had it how big is your kid? see this was one of the brands i was thinking of getting found it for a 100 if i can get that. but its not the brand new ultra light one thats um 260+ i was like um no

I have a Joovy, and while I like it, it is big and heavy and awkward to lug around. I'm 28 weeks pregnant, and getting it in/out of the car is a pain and getting through tight spaces. But I don't now if any other double/sit and stand would be better. The basket is pretty small, however.

I have 3 kids and have owned A LOT of strollers including a "sit 'n stand" style stroller. No strollers have come close to the ease of pushing a Disney rented stroller. They really glide. Unless you have other small kids, I don't know if it's worth it to purchase a new stroller. We plan to use the Disney VISA perk for my youngest (7 also).

so most of you say to rent one lol i wish i had free rentals. 48 dollers in rentals lol i guess i have a lot to think an see what to do

We really like the joovy caboose. Its 26 lbs and fits in the trunk very easily, folds very easily too. We have had it for 18 months. Not coincidentally, we have an 18 month old and a 4 year old. They carry them at most Babies r us, so you could check one out.

If you're not opposed to credit cards, you still have time to get a Disney Visa. We really liked having it last time--- you get the free stroller rentals plus a free picture w/the characters. You also get a free gift card when you get your Visa.

We have the Disney Visa and loved the free stroller benefit. I like that they allow you to turn the strollers in and check them out again the same day if need be. During one of our last evening visits we stuffed our sweaters in the basket, under the seat. When we took them out a little while later we realized that the prior occupant of the stroller must have had an "accident", and that it had dripped into the basket. Pretty gross. We had excellent experiences with the strollers prior to that, not sure what went wrong. Our son sat in the seat, but because it was mesh I guess it had dried for the most part so he was ok, but it must have collected in the basket. After that we've always checked the basket.

We love the Disney Visa free rentals as well. But if you want the convenience of being able to stroll your tired/sleeping kid back to your room, you'll need your own. When we went, my daughter was tall for seven and we bought a Maclaren Volo. I think it was $95 at Target and she fit fine. Plus plenty of room underneath. Folds up in a heartbeat. Then you can resell it on ebay or craigslist for about $50.
