Has anyone else checked out the storm brewing south of Cuba? They have it tracking to central FL on Sunday. Maybe if we all talk about it, it will go away. We leave Thursday for a long weekend! :umbrella:

I felt like crying when I saw Weather Channel talking about it today!!!!  Go away, Tropical Depression #24!!!!!! :( :(

I was going under the "Don't think about it and it will go away" theory, but whatever works. :teeth:

We check in on Thursday and have a Wishes cruise Saturday. :umbrella:

accuweather.com has it posted coming in as a category 2 on Sunday right through central Florida. We fly in Saturday afternoon and are planning on doing AK on Sunday. Now accuweather is calling for strong winds on Sunday. Guess we will just have to wait and see coz these things are very unpredictable - maybe we could get the hurricane hunters to fly over and sprinkle pixie dust on it and it will just disappear.

I will be returning home on that Sunday, at least I thought I would be.

I will be leaving home (Orlando) for a trip to LA on Thursday and returning home on Monday. Unlike everyone else, I want to be in Orlando if there is a hurricane. My sister is going to be looking after my pets while I'm gone. How is she going to get to my house if there is a hurricane? Why now?

I flew back to Orlando from LA last year because of one of the hurricanes. We are to be returning the first part of next week also so may fly home early if it looks like hurricane is headed to Central FL.

Let's all not panic just yet--they have a VERY HARD time predicting these things--in a few hours all of what you just saw on the Weather Channel may be completely wrong.
Or not. They simply don't know.
Let's hope it dosen't impact anyone's vacation at WDW!

You are correct. It is too early to tell what the Tropical storm will do. You have to watch every day to see what will happen.

We are supposed to land on Sunday at noon. I am very certain I will not be on a flight if I know I am landing during a big storm! I just picture the plane in my favorite TV show LOST.
I hope Uncleromulus is right! He is a very level headed guy!

We just returned from two weeks in Orlando. The first week we caught the tail end of tropical storm Tammy - it was still very hot and humid but cloudy and quite a lot of rain intermittently - this did not spoil our holiday whatsoever, the crowds at the parks were lower and we were able to do all the rides loads of times. Last week it brightened up and was hot hot hot all week.

I'm not sure how severe the storm warnings are out there but just wanted to reassure you (hopefully) that even though we had the weather channel on all the time and it forecast nothing but rain it wasn't nearly as bad as we had envisaged

I am from Minnesota arriving on the 20th and so far according to Local weather in Orlando that I have e-mailed to me every morning there is only a 20-30 percent chance of rain at all Thurs the 20th through Sunday 23rd. If anyone wants to get the local forcast e-mailed to them as well I get mine from WESH.com, a local news station in Orlando.

We'll be there on Wednesday to stay through the week, and I already have the Mickey rain ponchos packed...Hey what else can we do?? I can only hope it doesnt rain at the party on the 20th......think happy thoughts...."Any Happy Little Thought".

We leave Thrusday ---*fingers crossed* for ok weather - not even great weather - ok weather is fine with me :)

Travel safely everyone!

I am in Daytona and am planning an overnight at WDW on the 28th, so hopefully this thing will be gone by them In watching the news on this storm, they have it tracking into the Gulf on Wed but after that, at this point it is anybodys guess where it will go. Hopefully it will stay away from FL..There are also models that show it heading west to the yucatan. So for now it is too early to tell. Should know more on Wed. I hope it stays away from central Fl..I cant take any more hurricanes here, i endured the three last yr. Plus i am going to WDW next wekend and i dont want that ruined.

Just saw an update.:.on Saturday of this week, the huricane will just be emerging into the Gulf, so it shouldnt have any impact on those of you traveling to WDW for the coming weekend.
