New Stitch attraction?

Does anyone know when the new Stitch ride/attraction in Magic Kingdom is opening? Replacing the Alien Encounter attraction. Know a Date??? I thought I heard fall 2004??

Hoping it will be open by a mid-Oct trip. Thanks.

I have read somewhere that October 1st is the official grand opening, so you should be in luck, unless they are running behind schedule.

Anyone know if they'll have sneak previews before that date? We're going Sept 16-18. Last year we got a preview of the Philharmagic before the actual opening.

I really hope it'll open by the begining of October. I'll be there on Oct. 6th and I can't wait to try it out

If you have an annual pass, go to disney web site at end of Aug. On the passholder page they will be listing dates for AP sneak previews. I am hoping for dates in Sept as we will be there 9/10 to 9/13 and would love to see this new attraction. Both my kids are huge Stitch fans.

How do you think the ride will be handled during MNSSHP if it is still under AP preview? Since there is no benefit to being an AP holder during this hard ticketed event.

I too am hoping for an early preview in October. However, I just got the new Disney Magazine in today an there is a small article about this ride. This is what is printed:

Taking over the site of The Extraterrorestrial Alien Encounter at Florida's Magic Kingdom in NOVEMBER, Stitch's Great Escape will have guests guarding prisoner Experiment 626 (aka Stitch).

For the attraction, imagineers (such as John Cutry, above) built a 39-inch-tall Audio-Animatronics Stitch with more than 350 parts that allow him to make 40 movements. Through a sophisticated sound system and environmental effect, the crafty alien will wreak havoc on the audience.

Sounds like it will open in November, but hopefully there will be soft openings before then (not just for AP holders).

We were just at MK last week, and Stitch's attraction does not look anywhere near ready to open. The outside is still basically dirt...November sounds more likely than October to me.
