New Star Wars Experience coming to Disney Parks!

bar is going to have a very different vibe between world and land if they continue with Walt's tradition of no alcohol in land.

So you want Star Wars Immersionland? Just kidding. I don't know at this point they might eventually come up with a different name but for now they seem to be going with Star Wars experience.

I was happy to see the article said "immerse you" :D and did not refer to it as SW Experience, they are still referring to it as land.

Does it really matter what the place is called like? Everyone is going to call it Star Wars land anyways.

Yes, it matters. While they have the chance to make it special - if they call it Land and others call it Land, it will be consistent with other parks usage, that is fine. Their choice to use "experience" a couple times last night was a "what...?" moment that I hope dies away.

So here is what I have found. The battle ride will be similar to spiderman. The Falcon ride will be similar to forbidden journey.

Well I was sort of expecting the battle ride to be Spider-manish but the Falcon ride surprises, because they keep talking about how you control the ship.

I think they are saying similar in motion, but the actual ride maybe different. It is supposed to be on some sort of track.

I guess I'd be a bit more excited with it if its Forbidden Journey with the ability to control the axis and the position/screen/display environment responds to your movement

I'm guessing one of the rides will be a trackless system since Disney has yet to use that in the states but has had success with them over seas. I can tell you, that Ratatouille, is an awesome ride and that the ride system is wonderful for that ride. I just don't see how it could be an aggressive enough ride system for Star Wars, but I suppose an altered version of that ride system could be used, if that is the path Disney is going.

I hope the Falcon ride is much different from the big battle ride and I hope that Disney comes up with something epic instead of copying Universal. I love Forbidden Journey, but Disney needs to do something NEW here, imo. Time will tell.

So from the renders... it looks to be 3 distinct "areas"...

A First Order/Empire hangar... A resistance/rebel base... and a marketplace.

Assuming 1 ride in the Empire hangar (escape)... the food and cantina in the marketplace... and the Falcon ride in the rebel base.

That's a lot of theming... imagine high walls/barriers to keep the areas separate. Distinct experiences in each area. Personally I'd like to see them bring a next gen version of Sorcerers / Agent P into the worlds. I used to stay away from those, but have found they are really engaging/fun and push you to go places you normally walk right past.

There's a lot they can do. I still wish there had been a traditional roller coaster though.

There's been no mention yet of the force or Jedi but I find it hard to imagine that Jedi Training Academy will be the only use of that in the entire area. An Agent P style thing where your trigger events via The Force would be pretty cool. It's aimed and youngish kids obviously but the interactive Pirates Adventure in the Magic Kingdom was popular with my boys, we did a few different maps.

The "Battle with the First Order" ride looks like a trackless ride system to me, I got the impression it's going to be like Toy Story Mania and the Buzz Light year ride an you'll shoot at Animatronic Strom Troopers

And I'm assuming from the concept art that the Falcon ride will be a bunch of small Cyber Space Mountain style, 2 seat motion simulators, hidden inside the Falcon facade

I've heard more like Spider-Man than buzz.

The concept art looks great.

As for the name ... my first thought was of an Elvis impersonator show that plays sometimes at the local Casino ... "The Elvis Experience". Ugh. They'll have to do better than that. But I guess I could live with it.

If it's anything like Spider-Man, I'll be sitting that one out. Give me any roller coaster in the world, I'll ride it. Give me a simulator, I'll vomit. Spider-Man and Simpsons get me sick. Rip Ride Rockit...I ride repeatedly.

I won't vomit (probably) but like you I prefer a coaster to Spider-Man and the Simpsons.

Spider-man is a very interesting and innovative ride, but the motion just isn't Newtonian enough to make me feel like I've had a thrilling experience at the end.

I find Simpsons fun and thrilling, but the slight mismatch between the projected and the actual movement messes with my inner ear to the point where I often have to take time off and look at the other vehicles for a while until my stomach settles down.

The Forbidden Journey is OK with me though. Possibly because the robot arm has more freedom of movement, it doesn't seem like it depends on jerking and twisting to provide fake G forces.

The more that the "Star Wars Experience" is like Forbidden Journey, or a coaster, the better.

I can handle Spider-man and pretty much all other simulator rides (though I might feel a little off afterwards but it quickly fades) but it's a no way not again for simpsons ugh was sick for hours after that. Of all the simulator rides people speak of it seems simpsons comes up as the one that makes people the most sick.
