New Standard Beach Club Rooms (I think)

Hi we went to WDW over Thanksgiving and I haven't seen this anywhere else so I thought I'd post it here. The former Beach club offices that were on the 2nd floor just above the lobby have been converted into standard rooms. I'm not sure when this happened, but they bellhop thought it wasn't long ago. So If they have been there for awhile, please forgive me. The rooms (well we only saw one, but I assume they're all alike) are much bigger than the other rooms inthe resort. The only problem is the windows don't open, and there are no balconies. The rooms are directly over the driveway where you drop off your luggage. Next time you are there look at the windows that are directly on top of the front doors and to the sides. We asked for and got a room with a view, but if this doesn't matter to you, and you want a bigger room this might be for you.

Thanks for the info . Those don't sound like good rooms for me, We need a balcony, and if we were to stay at one of those resorts, it would be the YC. Always good to be up to date though!

I opened the Beach Club at the front desk. Those 4 rooms have always been there, just not used unless the hotel was 100% full or if needed as convention hospitality suites. The rooms are larger than the average rooms in the hotel and have (had) a king sico bed and day bed.

We need a balcony too & that's why I don't like the Beach Club. Many of the rooms have those tiny balconies that aren't good for us. We like a place to sit & relax after the kids are asleep.
