New Guest map for SSR. Notice that the Grandstand bus route is a dead end turn around like OKW. So much for the more efficent loop route, Millers Road anyone? :rolleyes1

Thanks for the map. It doesn't look like there's any other way they could have done it though.

That'll make a little longer ride around the resort either coming or going as everyone enjoys the bus ride.

Looks like, depending on which route (sequence of bus stops) the busses actually follow, someone staying in bldgs 85-88 might find it more convenient to catch the bus over at The Springs stop.

Thanks for sharing.

It doesn't look like the bus stop for Grandstand is very centrally located to the buildings. I know these maps can be decieving, but it looks pretty far from two of the locations to the bus stop.

How many pools will SSR have once it's completed? Is there a carosel built over in the carosel section? If you are staying in the carosel section, is the closet pool in the grandstand section. Seem like a long walk or is it shorter than the map makes it look?

If anyone can post any pictures of the grounds I'd appreciate it. I've seen interior shots of the rooms on allears but would love to see more pics!

Thanks,
Blakely

Thank you! Wow- we have only stayed at SSR once and the only sections were the Springs, Paddock, and Congress Park. I also recall the Carousel section being built.

There is a quiet pool in the Paddock area, so not a distant walk for those in the Carousel section.

It's my personal experience that nothing at SSR is all that far from anything else at SSR. I'm constantly amazed at those who claim the resort is too large, but SSR only appears to be absolutely massive. I believe it was WillCAD who showed just how reasonable the walk-times around SSR really are. When we were at SSR in January '05 I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was only a very leisurely 10 minute walk from High Rock Springs Pool to to most distant Congress Park building -- made all the more leisurely by the fact that I was accompanied by a young lady who had just turned 5 years old and was more interested in watching the rabbits hop across the lawns than in making good time to get back to the room.

I can't waitto walk the grounds of SSR again! We went over in October and saw the new area under construction. When I am back in Jan/Feb I am going to take my time and go around the entire place!!

Thanks for the map

Thanks RoyalCanadian. I think the map makes the resort look much larger than it probably is. Hope to see it in person one day!

I have to agree with R.C. as well we were in the 6400 building and there was no direct path to the carriage house so it was either the bridge or around CP area. But the walks were never that bad at all.

We can't wait until the entire thing is finished as It's such a great resort.

Nice map. We'll be at SSR on the 13th. Is it me or does it seems pretty far for someone staying in the Carousel to get to a pool?

I think you're right on the money on this observation BlakeNJ. Even after being on the property for a week in Jan05 and walking the grounds (Paddocks were still under construction and the Springs buildings were just being furnished) I was pleasantly surprised to read WillCAD's email detailing the exact distances from various points on the SSR property.

It is a wonderful resort and the theming is outstanding. We are currently counting down at "27 sleeps" to being home @ SSR.

Quiet pool just over in the Paddocks section is very close and it is not an obscene distance to either the High Rock Springs Pool or the new themed pool in the Grandstand section. The entire complex is very well linked by pathways, roads and bridges.

Could you direct me the WillCAD's post on walking distance? Thanks again for the posts.
