NEW Skillet Menu at WCC

SharkyGoddess, if it is the same shrimp served at O'Hana's etc. it is sure to be good. The only shrimp I cannot abide is those tiny flavorless things that you get on cheap buffets. Besides, it is all you can eat so you can double up if need be. :thumbsup2

We were there Tuesday. I noticed the change to shrimp (we didn't order the skillet) and thought it kind of odd.

The sausage is still available in the form of an appetizer. They have a sausage and cheese plate that was huge. My wife ordered it and I ordered the nachos. We shared and enjoyed each.

I like shrimp with pretty much any meal, but my wife does not like to peel them. She thinks it's "yucky."

lynninpa:laughing: Cute but I would prefer a 'box of chocolates".

iteachlit, you have obviously not trained your wife well. My hubby does not like the time and trouble it takes to eat lobster, crab or peel n eat shrimp but loves to eat them so I do all the work. If he could figure out a way I could chew them for him too he would. I say he has an abundance of 'lassitude'. He does not understand long words so I am trying to keep him from getting his feelings hurt. :rotfl2:

I love shrimp so I hope they're good :)

We do don't we? How funny!

Not sure what we are going to do now. DW is allergic to shrimp and can't have any cross contamination on the skillet. I guess when we let them know they will just bring it out on a separate plate.

I would think in your situation you could maybe even ask for a double of something? So many people have shellfish allergies and I think somewhere I saw allergies and the restaurants mentioned.

Had the skillet last week on our first night. The shrimp was good...it was the kind you had to peel but it was warm - not cold shrimp cocktail. It was a bit hard to peel after eating the other things (messy hands). DH did not want to take the time to peel it but I did and enjoyed it.

It must just be me but I find the addition of shrimp and deletion of sausage on a bbq/western style skillet less than appealing. :confused3 My dh and I both can't stand shrimp and we live on the coast so if we wanted it we could get some good shrimp just about anywhere. The places we can't get shrimp are places that serve food like the WCC food. I am also less than thrilled with the removal of corn on the cob for "seasonal vegetables". The WCC is a must eat at during each of our meals so this is not happy news. I am normally all for change but the shrimp thing makes no sense to me because of the other food on the skillet. And the mere fact that a lot of people have a shellfish allergy they will not be able to enjoy the skillet which is unfortunate in my book. :sad2:

Let me preface this with saying I have 2 people in my family who are highly allergic to seafood. But, just a thought. If a person wanted the skillet. They would tell the waiter, waitress about thier allergy. They would be served the skillet, minus the seafood. Pretty simple. Disney is very accomodating, with allergies, dietary needs.

I am going to miss the sausage! It was so good! I guess we'll have to let them know not to put any shrimp on our skillet on my next trip, I don't eat shrimp and DBF is allergic to them.

Can anyone report on the size of the shrimp? I love the big ones and they are well worth peeling but not those tiny flavorless things they sometimes call shrimp.

Just wondering, Slightly Goofy
