New Simple Escapes shipping time frame

Simple Escapes--a plan just like Connections--used to have a shipping policy of you receiving your vouchers within 3-5 days. Now its 7-10 days I ordered last night and we are leaving next week. Im hoping they get here on time but I dont really think they are. Now they are just shipping 1st class mail, no more UPS 2nd air--even it you wanted to pay for the quicker shipping. So if they dont get here on time I guess they are going to be getting $250 worth of vouchers back. Membership this year is renewing at $149--no offer of gift cards or utility vouchers either. Looks like we are going to cancel. There is really not much a of saving when you have to buy over 29 of the $5 rebate cards just to break even.
Guess I'll try the trial Connections thru Lillian Vernon or Hot wire.

I belong to Connections and any time I ordered $50.00 or more I received them via UPS. I placed an order on Sunday for $55.00 and I received my vouchers on Wednesday, but got mine first class from USPS. Maybe they will arrive before your trip. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I ordered my Park Hoppers from Connections a week ago this past Monday night - Sept 15. Still have not received them. Called twice now and they told me 7-10 days. Getting worried now. They assured me both times that they were mailed on the 16th.

mrsheppo--they dont use UPS anymore I used to get my stuff pretty quickly when I ordered because it came UPS. Now they just use USPS 1st class I think they should give you the option of paying extra for priority shipping. I know I could have ordered sooner but I was waiting for the next cycle on my cc so I wouldnt be hit with the charges as soon as I got back from vacation. Well if they come, they come and if not Im still gonna have a great trip!!

Connections new policy is everything is shipped 1st class mail regardless of value. I ordered 4 $25 babies r us gift cards early Monday morning. They came today--in a regular envelope--not even wrapped in a piece of paper. I called and complained and they said people were complaining about the 2nd day air service so they discontinued it. Ususally when you say you want to cancel your membership they offer you something--not anymore, do you want me to cancel it effective today? I'm going to order my Xmas gift cards and then cancel.

mousey--make sure you dont cancel until after you get your rebate. Normally when I make my purchase one month I see credit at the beginning of the next month--usually the 1st or 2nd.
I dont see how anyone could have called to complain about getting their certs quicker with UPS 2nd day?? I'd much rather get mine in 3-5 days than 7-10. Although really my main probelm in getting them quickly is that we are leaving in a few days, otherwise I dont usually have to have them that quick. Although I can see problems with them getting lost in the mail--atleast with UPS you could track it.

I have seen people complaining on this board about the UPS delivery. They were complaining that they weren't home to sign for them and UPS wouldn't leave them and they had no way to get to UPS before they closed. Guess all those complainers ruined it for everyone else...OR they were tired of paying the high cost to two day things. Now though....since they send USPS with no delivery confirmation, I think they are opening themselves up to a huge amount of fraud with people saying they never got them and will eventually have to send the people new vouchers or refund their money unless they have some sort of delivery confirmation or tracking that shows proof they were received.

Some good news!! I got my certs today!! Much quicker than I thought.
Summerrluvv--they did come delivery confirmation But they were just left in the mail box. Wonder what would happen though if they got taken from your mail box?? That doesnt happen a lot in our neighborhood but you never know.

Anyway Im just happy I got them. I will still probably cancel SE because I think $149 is just to much to pay. But the Hot wire savings club is a little better.

I was thinking the same thing. Those complained about UPS ruined it for those of us that loved it. Oh well, looks like the best thing to do now is to place your orders early.

Personally I think its just a line. They may have had some complaints but money is always the bottom line and it was probably cheaper to go USPS 1st class than UPS 2nd day air.
Although in this instance I actually got mine quicker since UPS doesnt deliver to ressies (residental homes) on the weekends. I wouldnt have gotten mine til Mon probably.
Summerrluvv--do you think they do delivery confirmation depending on what or how much you order?? Maybe they just do it for vouchers or an amount over $50--kind of like they used to.

I do not like this new mail vs UPS. I still have not received mine that I ordered on Septmeber 15th. Now they have to start the "investigative process".

I have ordered several things from Connections in the past and have never had a problem. Now I order my passes after they switch to mail and this is what happens!

KLAIT--sorry they lost your passes. I hope you get it cleared up soon. Maybe if this starts happening often they will go back to UPS or some secure type of delivery. I wonder if they atleast send the passes insured incase they do tun up MIA.

I think connections saving money on shipping costs was the reason they went to 1st class mail. They were so dumb--if you ordered $50 from outback and $50 from Olive Garden they sent them in 2 different envelopes. A little common sense on their shipping department might have saved some money. I'm sure the only complaints they got about the ups 2nd day was if someone wasn't home to sign for it. Why would anyone complain about getting their order in 2-3 days opposed to 7-10!!!! After I order my Xmas gifts and get my refunds--I'm cancelling.

If I order Q and C vouchers, but don't use them all, they are returnable, right?

You have 9o days to return the vouchers for credit back. The certs are all different on expirations. I have some that charge a fee after 12 months of non use and some say 24 months. I also have some that no expiration date.
