For select Silver Anniversary at Sea voyages, the night sky will shine even brighter this summer with a shimmering new fireworks display.

Created in honor of Disney Cruise Line’s 25th anniversary, the limited-time evening extravaganza will uphold the cherished Disney tradition of fireworks and honor Disney’s continuing legacy of adventure. The dazzling spectacle will be set to the tunes of iconic and beloved Disney music, and anchoring the show will be a brand-new signature song created especially for the “Silver Anniversary at Sea.”

The 25th anniversary fireworks show will be featured on most Bahamian, Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises this summer.

Say “Cheers” During a Shimmering Soiree

A captain’s reception is a well-known cruising tradition that has been enjoyed by Disney Cruise Line guests since the very beginning. In honor of our “Silver Anniversary at Sea,” Disney Cruise Line is reimagining this time-honored event into a one-of-a-kind celebratory experience, adding an extra dose of magic to sailings this summer.

To honor Disney Cruise Line’s “Silver Anniversary at Sea,” Captain Minnie Mouse and Captain Mickey Mouse will don dazzling new ensembles in the celebration’s signature color, Shimmering Seas. (Disney)
On one evening each cruise, guests will be invited to join their ship’s captain and cruise director in the atrium (or Grand Hall for those sailing on the Disney Wish) for an anniversary toast. The festive affair will feature appearances from Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse — dressed for the occasion in their shimmering new looks, of course! — and a delightful rendition of the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” theme song.

All Castaway Club members who sail during the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” this summer will receive a limited-edition framed art print in their stateroom to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime celebration until supplies last.

So is this Silver fireworks instead of the Pirate night fireworks, or are they doing both fireworks shows? We are on the 7 night Mediterranean cruise leaving May 20th.

I would think this replaces Pirate night. Time will only tell though.

So what are they going to do on the no fireworks cruises like Alaska and Northern Europe? They used to do a frozen deck party for those. Sounds like formal night with the captains reception will be the.25th stuff with a toast ..or will that be an extra night?

I think there will only be one reception. Would be nice if there was two as I’m booked on a 10 night cruise. Can never go wrong with free drinks.

I'm keen to find this out too, we're on the same cruise. I have my pirate night outfit planned and my hat just arrived this week, so I guess that means I've jinxed it

I believe there is a pyrotechnic option, a kin to sparklers that do not offer the noise level disruptive to nearby creatures. Of course, I don’t know is if it’s the sound that Alaska is against or the flames of any type.

I hope they let the people that are interested to sign up in advance for participate in an optional Silver Formal night dinner. For example, if only one of the MDR’s of people say they wish to attend a formal night then the other 2MDR’s will be casual. Dress pants, dress, shirt, or blouse as a minimum for formal night MDR. No difference in rotation. Silver menu is served to everyone. If they want to add a $20 charge for glass of champagne I’d do that too.

I would think they would still give the sling bag. The framed print seems to be for everyone (unless they run out) while the sling bag is a CC gift. Fwiw, was on the Fantasy over christmas and they were giving staterooms the holiday prints, and we also got the standard bag and lanyards. So I think it is in addition, but I could be wrong.

Haha same, By the time I'm on my Silver anniversary at sea sailing I'll be pearl. I really hope they will do something special during those sailings or those who reached Pearl. Like a cc reception but just for Pearl with something exciting or a gift or whatever.. I mean they can do nice gifts, I got some fun commemorative inaugural sailing plates and like a mini leather suitcase display thing from an old TA...
