The topic of which lens to use at WDW is a popular one. Sigma has released a new lens that may be the one of choice for the dark rides. I use and have recommended their 30mm f1.4 and have had some success with it. What is nice, is that it has a separately purchased USB dock where you can do software upgrades and focus adjustments. Currently, to have your lens adjusted to your camera you have to send it in along with the camera (fortunately for me I have a Sigma repair center 15 minutes from my house). Their announced street price is $899 and we will have to see how that eventually plays out. Anyway this is a new lens line that will bear watching.

Im interested to see what the SELLING PRICE is on this lens. I say that since Sigma lenses usually sell for far less then they are listed on the company website

example- the 30mm 1.4 lists for $690 on the sigma site and sells for $489 everywhere.

Im guessing this will sell for 2-3 hundred less then list price.

Well it looks like the selling price is $899. That seems fairly steep to me since the 30 is 489 and most people love the 30 provided they get a copy that does not front or back focus.

This is a full frame lens, the 30mm f/1.4 is not. This is really tempting!

I own and LOVE their 50mm 1.4. If the 35mm is anything like it, then I'm in (maybe after I pick up the 85 :))

Let's see if it's as good as their 30mm in the real world. And how it compares with the Samyang 35mm.

ahh i missed that in the press release and not being a FF shooter i guess that wouldnt matter much to me.

Can you explain the benefits of a FF 35mm 1.4 on your d600? I know on a crop the 30mm was around a 50 with the 1.6x. I am just thinking that would be pretty wide on the FF. I guess much wider view on the dark rides?
