Howdy~
Any word of a new show on the Fantasy after her dry dock? Or will they continue Aladdin?
Cheers!

I saw somewhere that DCL is casting for new shows but I don't think Ive heard what they were off hand

Each ship has a new cast twice a year. A good proportion of that cast are usually new, so they're always auditioning, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're casting for new shows.
The only new one right now will be beauty and the beast coming to the Dream at the end of the year. Once that's up and running it wouldn't surprise me if they announce another new show.

It could have been for Beauty but I want to say it was for different characters that aren't onboard in the shows now.

Honestly, the shows on the Fantasy need an upgrade. Aladdin is awful, "just like Madonna's British accent!" Let's hope something new drifts into the theater during the dry dock.

Dry docks don't typically signal a new show. It just depends on when DCL want to change the show, as well as when the contracts for that particular cast (old show) is up.

I'm very sorry to read the dislike of Aladdin on Fantasy. On Bway and/or touring, I've seen B & B, TLM, LK, (Never did get to MP), and Al. Aladdin was my Favorite by MILES. I thought it was Absolute Magic from start to finish! Sad to hear it is hum-drum at best. And I am SO over Disney trying to string together their material with cheesy story-lines. A pure review would be So much better than the HS graduation nonsense.

Now, see, the one redeeming factor in Wishes (over Believe) is that it's about Disneyland. We here on the west coast are often forgotten as being part of the Disney family. I'd replace Believe before Wishes.

Although I think they're both weak variations of "Disney's Dreams". I get that a compilation of as many Disney songs as possible is desirable to appeal to the most people, just coming up with some random story to connect them all isn't well done in either Believe or Wishes.

Please know that this east coaster DOES feel you when it comes to Disneyland. At the same time, I honestly would just rather cut the nonsense and have another Disney song or two. Believe has been around for EVER, and you are not wrong that it is time for something new.

I will concede that on Broadway Aladdin is a smidge better than The Little Mermaid (which was a disaster the moment they decided to make the mermaids wear heelies)...but that is not saying much. When your 11 o'clock number happens before intermission (Friend Like Me...the one redeeming thing about it IMHO), you're in trouble.

And as the cast have been given the opportunity to go home during the dry dock, I highly doubt it this time...
