What's the latest on the rumor of a new "off-road" Segway Tour at Ft. Wilderness?
We loved the Epcot tour and DBF is a big nature buff.

The CMs mentioned the possibility during our tour last Feb. and then, last week, someone said the CMs on their tour said it was a go for late November or early December.

Any word?

That would be fantastic. We loved the Epcot one, another would be great.

No mention of it on our tour Tuesday, but they did have one of the off-road model Segways on display in the training area.

hmm..interested in this too...guess the best things come to those who wait...or at least that is what I am told :goodvibes

I asked our guide, LaMont, last Thursday 10/26 on our tour and he said "it was in the works" but didn't give us a time frame.

Were you by any chance on the 8:30 tour?

Hey, Mrs. Toad! Yes we were! We talked to you and your DH in line at Nemo when it broke down. It was so nice visiting with you!!!

Did you have a nice vacation? I'm already wanting to go back again.

We enjoyed visiting with you, too! I think we crossed paths again when we were leaving Le Cellier after dinner, but we didn't want to bother you :) . We had a great time...DH is ready to return and take another Segway tour!

P.S. After several tries, we finally rode Nemo on our last day!

Oh, I wish you would have stopped! We really had a delicious meal at Le Cellier.

How was Nemo? We didn't get to ride it this time!

DH told me to go ahead and call our guide about adding on at BCV. I called her today and we are on the waitlist!! She said she has seen it take anywhere from 1 month to 9 months. How long did you have to wait for your add-on at BCV?

At least your DH is just wanting to do another Segway tour. Our DD wants to BUY one!! LOL.

We enjoyed our dinner at Le Cellier, too (though DH was disappointed that they turned the Maple Creme Brulee desert with the maple cookie into a half maple and half vanilla version with no cookie).

We started the add-on process this past May and received some of the points right away for our August use year. It took 3 months for the remaining points to come in. We were thrilled it only took 3 months.

This was DH's 5th Segway tour and he has been wanting one since the 1st tour. He actually did buy a new i2 just before our trip with a well-earned bonus he received! Watch out for DD - riding the Segways can be addicting! DH never treats himself, though, so I am actually happy he bought one. He still wants to do the tour on each future trip and is looking forward to hearing about the new "off-road" tour if it is added to the offerings.

Nemo was nice, but in the future, I think it will be one of those attractions we only visit if we happen to hit it when there isn't a wait (or if we are traveling with kids). I'm glad we got to finally see it, though. And, DH even watched the movie for the first time when we got back (I think he was most interested in the story behind the seagulls outside the ride!).

That is encouraging that you got your points within about 3 months. I will be happy if we get ours by mid-2007.

How awesome that you have your own Segway! We live in a rural area and really have no need for one but they sure are fun to ride!!!! Of course, that may change if we get a chance to try one of the offroad Segways!!!

Thanks for the info on Nemo. I'm sure we'll do it sometime.

Any news yet?

Also, is the Around the World Tour $85 next year? DU charged me $72.25 and that came to 15% off (AAA discout) of $85, not $80.
