New Segway Tour - One more try

OK - there has been a rumor floating about the possibility of a new Segway Tour at Ft. Wilderness.
Last time I asked, there was not an answer and the thread was hijacked for a private conversation.

Ok, my last name rhymes with Bueller so I feel obligated to say something. I did not want this thread to go by the wayside because I am interested in knowing this as well. We will be staying in Fort Wilderness and I want to do a Segway tour. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Ok I could totally be off base her so I do apologize if I am.

But I think the new Segway tour has to do with the Segways themselves. There is a new model out or something. I do believe it will still only be at Epcot.

We took the Segway tour in October and our "guide" type person mentioned that they were getting a new model of Segway in.

Separate issues.

When we did the "Around the World" Segway Tour last Feb. Our awesome tour guide, Lamonte, told us that Ft. Wilderness was in the exploratory stage for a tour using the "suv" segways. Then, a couple of weeks ago, someone else mentioned that the they had heard this would happen in late Nov. or early Dec. but since then, nothing.

The type of segway of an off-road tour like it would be at Ft. Wilderness is different than the old or new ones on the Epcot tour - different tires.

I so want this rumor to actually come true but it doesn't look like it.

I'd call WDW and find out. Since the Segway Tour originates at guest relations in EPCOT, give them a call and see if something is in the works for your vacation dates. We thoroughly enjoyed the Tour around the World this July and plan to do it again in June. At least do the one if you can

I asked LaMont about the off-road Segway Tour at Ft. Wilderness/Wilderness Lodge when we took the Epcot Segway tour on October 26th. He said it was still being worked out and wouldn't give me anything more definite.

Same here ... took the Epcot Segway tour on 11/3. Epcot guest services said the the Ft. Wilderness tour was still in the planning stages.

We have already done the Epcot Segway tour, and was really looking forward to this new segway tour at FW.

I originally heard late Nov./early Dec. That seems to definitley NOT be happening.
We go President's week, so here's to hoping!

If anyone hears anything - please update - this would be so cool.
I'd also love one at Animal Kingdom! We might do the backstage safari instead.

I took the epcot tour last week and it was wonderfull. I asked a few people about the FW tour. I was also staying there on site and they said they had plans to do it by first quarter or 2007. I saw one of the new off road segways and I wanted to ride one of those, some really traction orientated tires

Wow. We'll be there President's week. If they are saying "first quarter" I bet we'll just miss it.
Anyone doing the Epcot tour (which is awesome by the way) please ask and update!
