New Sci-Fi menu question

Could one sub onion rings for the fries with the cheeseburger? Anyone done this successfully with or without an upcharge?

You get three....as in 3....skins for $10. That is just ridiculous!!

Now, if only they would start playing some Disney Cartoons or something else besides that awful reel of clips. It gets so annoying after a little while...I would much rather watch some cartoons or well, anything else...

It's called the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, that's why they show science fiction clips. Also, to anyone who complains about them only showing 35 minutes worth of clips and then repeating the whole thing all over again, that's to get people out the door so they won't sit and watch two hours worth of clips.

As for those potato skins, yeah, that's pretty lame. Three for $10? Unless those are huge and we simply can't tell without a reference point (celery sticks aside) that is inexcusable. I'd be curious to know which of the apps on the new menu give you the most (quantity) food for your buck. I doubt it's the skins.

Does Sci-fi have chicken strips or nuggets for the kids? I did not see it on the menu.

The steak was available at lunch.

DH had the potato skins & liked them a lot. They were bigger than in that picture.

ETA... just spoke to DH & he confirmed they were that size & just "ok". Sorry! It was dark in there! They looked bigger to me.

But that's the whole theming of the restaurant :confused3
Directly from the Disney site-
Fabulous B-Movie Flicks in Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
Like a night at the old drive-ins, servers at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater restaurant bring food to vintage '50s "convertible" tables as you watch '50s and '60s sci-fi and monster flicks on the big screen.
Dine at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater under a nighttime sky filled with twinkling stars, while glow-in-the-dark ice cubes swirl in drinks. It's all part of the otherworldly ambiance that's hard to beat.

Thanks Mo2Wo1 for your observation - I was just sharing my opinion about the experience - glad to know you are looking out for the integrity of the place.

The atmosphere and theming is fabulous, but for whatever reason the clips always seem to grate on me. A pet peeve I suppose - but I still enjoy the experience of dining there. Thanks!

Definitely loving the new menu options. We do Sci-Fi every year and I almost cancelled this year just because a burger and onion rings was getting a little tired---I'm glad to know we'll have some new options to sample this trip.

I have to agree - that seems crazy, even for Disney - most places you get 5 or 6.

I'm glad to hear they are bigger than they seem, but still for $10...?

Ok, after mentioning this to DH he said they were that small & that they were just ok. My memory sucks I guess. It was dark in there! :goodvibes

Wait am I missing something? Did Sci-Fi really remove the only thing worth eating on their menu... the steak and blue salad? That is extremely disappointing.

That was my favorite thing there too. I haven't made reservations for next year yet, but it is probably going to be crossed off my list since I was the person to insist on eating there. DH just went along to humor me. Awh, well.

So bummed the beef & blue isn't on the new menu... I want to re-think going there now. We'll see.

Has anyone had any luck with walk in reservations at the Sci Fi drive in?

The best times to obtain a walk-in reservation @ Sci-Fi is mid-afternoon,
2:00 PM through 4:00 PM.
