New Save the Dates?

Has anyone seen the new save the date?
We were there a couple of weeks ago for a site visit and our planner told us there'd be new save the dates out the following Friday after we were gone...

Just wondering what they're going to look like?

Disney just sent out our STDs last week & I got my copy yesterday. I love them! the 3 inserts sit nicely into the folder. My guests have called and said how great they are!

I prefer the overall magical look of the old ones, but I think this one is better because it looks more like a "save the date." The old one looks more like Disney marketing material; it reads more like a "Come Vacation at Disney" brochure, and then your wedding is an afterthought on the last page, whereas with this new one, there's no mistaking it, it says clearly on the front that it's a save the date.

I actually had a couple of guests who thought that the "Save the Date" was the invitation itself that Disney had sent out , and they would tell me or Val, "Oh, I'm sorry I haven't responded yet" and we would tell them, "Oh it's alright, that was just the save the date, we haven't sent out the invites yet." I think that was the case because the save the date was WAY too muddled with info that didn't pertain directly to the wedding.

So can you get invites from Disney as well? And would they go towards the minimum?

Disney will refer you to a vendor called Impressions who can do official Disney invites, but they do not count toward the minimum - which is too bad, cuz they're SUPER expensive!

Did anyone send out separate save the dates besides the Disney ones? I kind of wanted to send out one with our picture on it

We didn't send out additional save the dates but when we send out a newsletter to let everyone know all the details of everything we are going to send an engagement pic!

We have already sent out a newsletter to get everyone one the same page and our Disney STD's should be arriving to them this week. I don't think we are going to do a "formal invite" b/c of how impressive the new STD's are. But we are planning on sending out a "look forward" post-card type with our pic included as well as a formal YES or NO attendance check. We are making our "look forward to" card b/c DF is entirely too creative with stuff like that! I can't wait to see the new STD's in hand!!!!
