New Sandles/Blisters

Hi. I just picked up a pair of leather like cheaper sandles at Walmart. I have had them before, they are comfy but I always get blisters wearing them in. Is there anything that I can rub in my sandles or the top of my feet to help prevent this? OUCH I feel the pain just thinking about the up comming blisters.

I got the tip from somewhere (probably here) to put deodorant on my feet. I used it with tennis shoes that usually give me blisters, and it worked.
