I have read a couple of threads referring to new rules. What are the new rules? Did I miss a mailing? Can I see these on the member website?

No new rules.

Just changes in the implementation of exisiting policies and procedures:

1) Only Members can call MS now, no more Guests verifying ressies, adding DME or DDP.

2) Transfers once again limited to one per year per member/membership. This policy has been stated differently in various versions of the POS (Depending on date) and is fun to debate.

3) Disney stating it will detect patterns of renting and cancel reservations of commerical renters (as they so deem).

RESULTS SEEN RECENTLY ON THE DIS RESULTING FROM #s 1-3 ABOVE:

Please note, I am paraphrasing other's words, these may not be my beliefs or thoughts (if I have any to begin with!)

A) It all SSR's fault (Some Owners)

B) It has nothing to do with SSR (Other Owners)

C) Some former Guide named Hassan caused all of this by selling only 1,000 point DVC contracts.

D) Owner's who rent should get stuck in IASW for 14 hours!

E) $10 per point Rentees lower DVC standards (paraphrasing, not me speaking)

F) It's the end of the DVC as we know it!

G) Look out for a massive DVC sell-off (lemming effect)

H) Look for Rental rates to increase!

I) Look for rental rates to decrease!

J) WATCH OUT! EP (Eagle Pines) is right behind you!

K) Trust Corporate Disney, they are our Angels with only our best interests at hand.

L) Question Authority, especially Corporate Disney, remember Michael Eisner?

M) If you buy a boat, have at least 2 back ups, or be prepaired to 'Daitch, err' (Pronounced Ditch,BTW)

N) It's all SSR's fault! (Some Non-Member's Thoughts)

O) Please see my disclaimer before reporting me to the DISauthorities.

The bottom line, enjoy Disney, and relax, what will be, will be.

Hope this helped!

Tony,
This was the BEST!! I was SO afraid I wouldn't be able to catch up on what had happened during our few days at BWV :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I disagree with Tony, it is a new rule, rather a return to an old rule. The rules were changed in 2003 to allow multiple transfers.

Dean:

I hate to have to point this out, I was actually trying to be mostly funny here.

However, while the jury is still out, I do agree with your arguments, as you have consistently and logically presented them over multiple threads, that by reverting to a more restrictive implementation of a rule that had been relaxed, the DVC is required to follow it's own POS and obtain Member approval or Member Rep approval (whichever is required, as is beyond my febile froggie brain to decide), and certainly they did not provide acceptable advanced notice in this case.

In all honesty, I also agree that a 'reasonable person' would see your points clearly and easily, but alas, how many 'reasonable persons' are there in this world of ours?

On the other webbed foot, many disagree with this POV, based on their own 'factual' interpretation of their copy of the POS which makes them all a PITA, AFAIC, IYKWIM, savvy?

RIBBIT!

Tony,

I think this IS some of your best work yet!!! Make sure you get a nice little frame for it to go next to all your froggy pictures!! You definitely deserve an award for this one!!!

Seriously.....thanks for the laugh!!!

Yes, thank you. I've been away for a week and couldn't figure out what was going on either.

As a public service (to prevent more threads morphing -like those darn DVC points), I'm bumping this short and easy complete explanation back on to page one.

Ignore the man behind the green curtian:

Tony,
Love your new pic, but I'm a tad confused! :confused3

Would that be greenban Jr on the left or the right? :rotfl2:

I just seen where now Disney says they are changing the "Do not Disturb" sign to "Occupied". This will allow any employee to enter your room so as long as they knock. So if you don't reply or hear them they can enter your room.
