Has anyone determined the penalty for violating rule 3? My red pen is itching to correct "ellipsises." Before I let it loose, I need to do a cost-benefit analysis.

Put your red pen away. I fixed the offensive spelling error. Can't help it if my fingers go so fast they hit a few extra keys along the way.
