I read on the allears web site that two new restaurants are opening at Epcot
; one in Mexican pavillion and other a pizzeria in Italy. On the blog, I couldn't tell their opening dates. Anyone heard of this?

Thanks!

The allears story (link below) sounds like the new Cantina de San Angel will be counter service during lunch and table service for dinner. Sounds like this is replacing the San Angel Inn but earlier reports said it was not replacing it.

I wonder if a full service restaurant will still be available at lunch.

The new pizzeria in Italy, I think, is all new...and should be yummy.

The old Cantina de San Angel closed so that they add seating. That is what I had heard anyway. And that they were still going to be a QS. I did not hear anything about it replacing San Angel Inn.
Both are delicious and excited for it to reopen!!!

The new Mexico restaurant is NOT replacing the San Angel Inn (inside the Mexico pavilion). It is replacing the Cantina de San Angel counter service (outside the pavilion). And the story appeared to be that the new Cantina will be CS during the day, and PARTIALLY converted to TS in the evening.

I'm assuming those eateries will be opening late in September or early in October since the article states "just in time for Epcot's 15th Annual Food and Wine Festival."

So do you think the TS service portion of the Cantina de San Angel will be prime Illuminations viewing space. I wonder when they will open up ADRs for it.

Autumn

I've seen one report that says there will be Illuminations viewing. (I'd bet you can't guarantee it though - although who knows. Disney is probably aware that many guests would love guaranteeing a table with a good view of Illuminations. Knowing Disney they might realize that many guests would pay extra for it. Who knows.)

Conversely, I have read that the new tables at the cantina will protrude into the lagoon a bit.... and so will be under the area for the firework fallout from Illuminations, hence they will probably not allow people to sit there during it
