We were walking along University Road yesterday heading to the Ulster Museum when DW spotted a familiar name across the road. Tony Roma's!! Couldn't be, I thought to myself!! Must be someone cashing in on the name!! So we left it at that, saying we would check it out on the net when we got home. Well, here's what we found; http://tonyromasbelfast.com/

Woooooohoooooooooo!!!

Just really annoyed that we didn't investigate further when we there but that's what you get for being a pair of disbelieving twits!! Seems it's only been here a year and we never heard of it till now!! :sad2:

When we were in Tony Romas last year i'm sure my husband noticed somewhere there was a TR in Belfast because we both said we will have go and visit my uncle in Moyra(dont think spelling is correct)but never got.
Claire

It opened on the 2nd August 2005 Claire, and the spelling you're looking for is Moira, just like the girl's name. Don't know how I didn't hear of it before now but anyway, it's up and running now and we'll definitely be paying a visit soon!

Wow looks good John, you will have to let me know what its like when you get the chance to eat there. I may have to pay it a visit next time im in Belfast :thumbsup2

Oh, now you tell me - bit of a long way for us to go now :sad2:

We wanted to do Tony Roma's this last trip but never managed to fit it in.

Anyone know if there is one in England?????

OK just followed Night Trains link and there is one in Kingston which is only about half an hour away. so guess where we will be going when we can think up a good reason. :thumbsup2

Got one anniversary next month :cool1: sorted :thumbsup2

So far Belfast and Kingston-Upon-Thames are the only UK branches. The Hughes Corporation (owners of the Belfast franchise) plan to open 5 across Ireland by 2010. :thumbsup2 In fact, apart from 1 in Germany and 20 (!!!!) in Spain, including the Spanish colonies such as the Canaries and Balearics, these are the only ones in the whole of Europe!

Joh, you lived a lot closer to Belfast than I do!! I'm surprised you didn't know anything about it too!! :lmao:

never got round to it

I was in Belfast in Jan on business and we ate there and had a wonderful meal! - Course when its on company expenses its always good ;)

Incidentally we also ate in another lovely restaurant in Moira - think it was called Ivory - the guy who runs it was a friend of my manager and has an identical restaurant 5mins away from me called ebony - although i may have the names the wrong way round!

great to hear that there is a Tony Romas in Kingston. DH is very excited. We were looking at the menu on the internet for the one on I Drive the other day planning what we would have had to eat if we hadn't had to cancel.

I remember seeing this when I was in Belfast last November. In fact we ate at the Italian restaurant just a few doors away!!!!!!!

TR in Belfast is lovely, really great food and good service. I go there with the girls about once every other month or so. Its also about 2/3 miles from my house and on my bus route which is handy. :D
