New Resort in Cocoa Beach - Info anyone?

Ok guys, just in case you missed my earlier post, mention code 102 from the Feb. issue of the Florida Travel Magazine and you should get 25% off. I made reservations for April and got the discount. It brought my rate down to $142 from $190 for a 1 bedroom!!

Thanks so much for posting this again. I missed it the first time. I just added the code to our reservation and brought it down from $100 to $75 for a studio for October.

Please post how your stay is when you get home.

Thanks Again.

Hi, I was quoted $130.00 then w/ the code 102 it was reduced to $108.00 I think!!? VERY CLOSE to that amount...I'm at work, so I don't have the paperwork w/ me.
Hope that helps you?

We are currently booked at the Hampton Inn - so before I switch to Ron Jon, I would like to know:

1. Do you have to show the magazine upon check-in, in order to get the discount?

2. Do you have to pay for entire stay before arrival, or just a deposit?

I have a feeling that once they get wind of the fact that we've posted the code on this board, that they might change something and then when we check-in we aren't going to be able to receive the discount. I just want to cover all of my bases as I need to factor in Canadian exchange on top of these rates.

Thanks dtheboys! I was quoted $130.00 as well - I was hoping for $100.00, but I guess this is peak season. I could have sworn that I saw their rate scale on the Ron Jon website the other day, but I can't find it. Oh well, my DH really wants to stay here, so with the discount that is more within our budget!

Thanks Paige3 for posting about the discount - this resort is going to get a lot of DIS business and as Shirley said in an earlier post, they need to recognize that and take us DISers seriously!

Tiger:)

Hopefully someone will have the answer to my other questions as well so I can surprise my DH with booking this resort before he gets home from work. I would call and ask myself, but their phone number doesn't work in Canada and I know that they've been having email problems, so I figured it'd be easier to ask fellow DISers for this info.

We were quoted US$ 190.00 for a one bedroom for our family of 5. Way too much for one night before our cruise. We would have been happy in a studio but I guess they have safety regulations that don't allow it. Too bad! The place looks beautiful.

We will be staying here next weekend 2 nights - the 5th and 6th before our cruise. I will let you know when we get back. we are 2 families of 4 sharing a 2 bedroom

berly...if you don't mind me asking, how much was the 2 BR?

Thanks

Tiger, I'm the one that found the code in the magazine. All I did was mention that I saw it in the Florida Travel magazine, and she gave me 25% off. In fact, I had the code, but she never asked me for it. I was a little worried that this resort seemed just too good to be true. I feel better now that I have read more about it. I was not told that I would need the magazine. I booked the resort last week and am staying for 4 nights in April. My confirmation arrived yesterday and a 1 night deposit was put on my credit card. I can't believe that they would ever take away the discount once it was given. If they didn't want to give it, they would not have put the code in the magazine. I bet that they only allow so many discounts using that code though. There has to be some kind of limit, wouldn't you think? If anyone is thinking about booking this resort, I would do it soon to insure the discount. They also assigned me a room in the pool bldg. When booking, I asked if I could request a view. I was told no. My kids will be thrilled being near the pool so it worked out fine! Good luck!

Thank you, thank you, thank you....
I just called and they applied this discount to my 2/13 stay (before the 2/14 Magic!!). I had originally gotten $117 for the studio (AAA rate) but now it's down to $97.50. This resort looks great - can't wait to see it first hand (especially with 6-12" snow predicted tonight and tomorrow here in MA!).

A huge (especially huge, since we needed a two bedroom) thank you for posting the discount code!

Thanks so much for all of the info and especially the discount code. I changed my reservations from another hotel so that we will spend the night before our cruise this summer at the Ron Jon Caribe Resort. The reservations agent accepted the discount code for our stay. She said that we would not have to listen to any sales pitch at all and that we can leave our car in their parking lot while we cruise although there is not shuttle service to the Port. She said to just tell the front desk and they would direct us to the side lot, which is not gated or patrolled, but on the premises. We also were told that should we need to cancel we would need to cancel 72 hours prior to arrival date to receive a full refund of our deposit.

I'm a little hesitant about this "side lot". Since I will have a car, the Radisson seemed like the better choice for me so I could take their shuttle, park for free and avoid the extra expense of parking at the port. I've used their parking lot before and it seems very secure.

If anyone goes to the resort and can give me confirmation on what this "side lot" looks like, I'd really appreciate it. My daughter would love the pool at this resort but for now, I think I'll stick with the Radisson until I hear more about the parking situation.

thanks! Marley

Does anyone know if the waterslide, lazy river ride, putt putt golf, etc, are all free with your stay, or do they cost extra?

I just found out the answer to my question about the waterslide, etc. I called to get a quote for the night before our cruise, and the lady said that it is all included. I had called to get a rate a couple of weeks ago, and I was quoted $130 for a studio. Today I was quoted $100, so it ended up being $75 after the 25% off. That's just too good to pass up since my reservation at the Radisson was for $89. The only thing that concerns me is if the waterslide and pool area will be completed when we arrive in early May.

Does anyone know how much a van costs to the port? There will be 11 of us.

Hi there - I do not know what code was used, but the coupon I have is code 300 - the phone numbers if needed again is 888-933-3030 - I never did hear from Kevin as to questions that I needed an answer to, but again I have to say this resort is beautiful - I saw the play area for kids which is inside and well protected with enclosed heavy duty glass
Anyhow if I can help in any way, just let me know
Always
Shirley

crazy4cruises-

We are staying at RonJon for our mid-May cruise. I believe I read recently that everything in the pool area is already finished, except for the slide and that was expected to be finished in the very near future (week or so I believe) Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong on this!

I am going to have the chance to go by this place sometime today - will let you know ok - also I want to check out a couple of other stuff - I still love the area for the kids - oh too I saw where you can check out different movies to play on VCR's - the movies looked up they were updates movies too - they have escalators which I love - Now the lobby is so big, it looks kinda "empty" but I am sure they are still working out the kinks -
Oh Dave if you read this - looks like they finally going to start breaking ground on the new Publix - WHOOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE -
Will let you know when it starts - all of those that are always asking about grocery stores etc can start breathing easy for this Publix is going to be only about 4 miles from the port if that -
ok all have a good day and stay warm.
Much love
Shirley
