The Residence Inn Resort is suppose to be opening on the 15th of May, which is this Tuesday. So basically people staying there this summer will be at a brand new hotel.
You are right about the hotel being themed. From what I gathered, it is suppose to be Caribbean themed. I am not sure how far they are taking that, but I presume they must be using fun colors and tropical decor. Apparently the pool/courtyard area will have waterfalls and lush landscaping, etc, so that sounds encouraging.
The hotel is in Lake Buena Vista, you can clearly see it from I-4, just next to the Embassy Suites. Regarding directions, you have to take 535 to Palm Parkway, continue for about a mile, and then make a right onto Marbella Court. Easy enough for me. A previous post mentioned that it is across from the Premium Outlets. I think the poster forgot to include that Interstate-4 is in the middle. This means you cant really walk there, but it is a short drive
Residence Inn in general is a great brand and offers super amenities, even more so then a Comfort Suites or similar product. They have a hot breakfast buffet that is free every morning, in the evening they have a free cocktails which is nice after a day at the parks.
I am not sure how the suites work, but I know they have several kinds of suites, with full kitchens, etc. I read something about oversized family suites, but dont know too much about that. I guess that it would be great though for privacy and extra space?
Regarding the apperance, i have not seen it recently, but when I did, it was underconstruction, so naturally I cannot give an accurate report. It has some interesting colors, yellow, brick-like color, white and a slate color roof....I think this all goes with the Caribbean theme, but was hard for me to tell.
Overall, for $89, I think it is worth a look. Especially for having brand new accommodations, excellent locaiton and loads of amenities.
Have fun, and let us know if you stayed, how it went!!
Cheers!!
PS. You mentioned that they have an introductory rate of $89, do you know what the regular rates are? Just curious
