New Reservation System Confusion

I got off of the phone yesterday with Meredith, a manager at MS. Since I had not heard a reply from her in a week. I had stated that I had received $422.00 for 19 counter service meals and 25 snacks, but I did not realize that this included around $100.00 of receipts that I already had handed in. She then again stated that it was managements fault at Wilderness Lodge that caused all the problems, even though MS missed mailing ME tags and I had to supply the names in our group on THREE different occasions. When I inquired about what MS could do (compensation) to make a vacation that WAS NOT magical at all, she stated that they had gone out of there way to give me money back from my meal plan as she said that Disney never does this if people dont use their meal plan. I HAD to remind her that I COULD NOT use the meal plan credits since they took them away from me while I was still there....almost like theft since I did pay for them. I had stated that I had spent $10,000.00 0n a vacation that was honestly very stressful, after all the confusion that I went through and she said that :well you cant factor in airfare and other incidntals to that total.... Well..............Eight 7 day park hopper tickets = $2,400.00
Meal Plan = $2,200.00
347 DVC Points = Priceless
Add in MVMCP tickets, sleigh rides, sea racer rentals and yes, it was close to $10,000.00 dropped at Disney to be treated like a fool. Meredith then stated that if this happened to everyone at Disney, that everyone could not expect compensation. I told her that if this happened to everyone that visited Disney that "they would be out of business" After I again stated that I would like some form of token appreciation from Disney, Meredith stated that during our original conversation that I had never mentioned compensation, I stated that I told her the most important thing was for Disney was to try and fix this problem as I would not want to see it happen to anyone else. I stated that I am a afthful customer and if this happened to a first time visitor, that I wa sure that they would not visit again. I sure wouldn't.
She then stated that the front desk at Wilderness Lodge management gave me three fastpasses due to missed time. This was on the last day of our trip, Christmas Day, the day that we had planned to spend away from the parks as a family . They were not used. So Over 2 hours a day (prime time)at the front desk...and sitting in our hotel room on Christmas eve by ourselves without our family members since the front desk had given me all new room keys and we had to let them in if they came home was the icing on the cake. I am sure that is worth a couple of fastpasses that I cant use. Meredith then stated that they could maybe give each member in our room a free one day (non park hopper) ticket. I read on the DVC Mousellanious board that (SSR Checkin thread) someone had not got phoned for their room being ready until 6 pm and they issued them 16 points and 7 free Disney tickets. I think that Disney is having so many problems with this new system that they dont know what to do. I am sure by acting like nothing is wrong will help fix the problem. I discussed with my wife the possibility of selling our VWL contract and just keeping our BCV contract. I have been visiting the WL since 1994 many times and can not believe that they would not at least phone and say sorry as they are very aware of the problem. Maybe I am just being petty but aafter visiting Disney for 30 years, I wonder if it is time to rethink where I spend the majority of my vacation dollars.....and it is quite a bit.

Was it compensation enough that they let you have 11 people in the room?

I'm all with you that they should have done something better than they did. But one thing I've learned in the past is that one you step foot off property, expect nothing.

The credit card charges you could have at least disputed, so that behoves them to reimburse you anyway. But for something like credited DVC points, it doesn't surprise me that they won't do anything now, after the fact, to "make good" on the situation. Of course with all the difficulty you had finding compentent managers, I understand that it was hard/impossible to get it sorted out while you were there. (While you were worrying about things like getting into your room!!)
